Would 'Milk of Magnesia' work? 'Course it's nasty too.

When starting rehab they gave me Milk of Magnesia at the assisted care facility where I spent three weeks after surgery. You scalliwags! Milk of Magnesia was the least of the unpleasantness .... Engaged in a running batttle with the kitchen for something - anything - actually edible at breakfast. Creamed chipped beef on toast is "improved" with generious splashes of Cholula. :: nod ::

Leg cramps at night can be caused by a lack of water or a mineral imbalance.

Drinking enough water during the day is important. If you are low on water internally you can get leg cramps at night. I find that cranberry juice helps. It has as much sugar as a soft drink so extract cranberry pills are a good alternative if you want to avoid it.

Haven't tried this, I just drink the juice. Try it in beer.

Eventually you develop a taste (or tolerance) for it. I can sit for an evening of tv and drive an entire 40 oz and it no longer bothers me. Also, I enjoy not having leg cramps and twitches anymore.

And it is one of those parties that takes place both inside and outside the lemonade stand down the street from the other lemonade stand. Present to a couple I know who were both essentially born grumpy old as-you-wills. Even at the physical ages of 20-something, all agree they are both get off my lawn types from before they left the starting gate. They are standing in front of me arguing (because it's one of their hobbies) and he says to his wife: don't be curt.

Corrected them both on the spot. Men are curt. Women are snippy.

Whereupn all agree in this moment - the couple included - I'd hit on their perfect names. To this day all one need say is have you seen Curt and Snippy? and everyone knows exactly who is meant. Curt and Snippy both matured into their Get Off My Lawn selves gracefully.

I'll work on it.

The timeless peaceful calm of a graveyard is somehow soothing. When the weather is better, I find myself walking through a large cemetary that’s next to a park that we walk in. Other animals seek refuge from the city there as well. It’s nice to have a habitat nearby. A place to relax and steep in the history.

Digital doesn’t have to be bad. Modern master photographers use it. But the old ways have merit.

More on digital....it’s well instantiated in the world of test equipment. I’ve been trudging through the almost 600 page user’s manual, one of many, for the new scope that I bought my wife for valentines day.

It used to be, with an analog scope, you simply turned it on and used it. The digital scope is a computer with a touch screen that responds to hand gestures; it runs Linux in the background behind the user interface; it sits on the internet and has it’s own onboard web site for remote work.

Digital is often way over complicated, laden with features that get in the way of productivity. Yes, there are good aspects to it. But it leaves me feeling somewhat overwhelmed with the options and how to best apply them.

They tell me that I need a signal generator that can play music, and a user interface screen that can display cartoons.

The world moves on. How you fit into it, that’s ever more difficult to figure out.
