Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

I wore a suit almost every day of my career. Casual day was unbuttoning the suit jacket.

I could wear any color suit as long as it was navy or grey, any color shirt as long as it was white, any kind of tie as long as it was silk, and any kind of shoes as long as they were black leather wingtips.

I got used to wearing a suit to the point where I didn’t notice it.

When Mrs. 12BitSlab and I go on a cruise, I still take at least 2 suits and 1 tux.

I once played wearing a chicken suit!

How cool is that.

Among the surreal imagery, Lewis Carroll references, and fanciful wordplay in The Beatles’ “I Am the Walrus” is the mention of the Eggman. This has long been known to refer to The Animals’ singer Eric Burdon, who was given the nickname by John Lennon. According to Bob Spitz in The Beatles: The Biography Lennon bestowed the nickname in “a reference to a 1966 orgy he attended with Eric Burdon, who earned the nickname for breaking raw eggs on girls during sex.”

Been there and glad I'm still not doing that...although I have no bad memories of those decades! My colleagues were all in Navy or Marine Corps uniforms, so it seemed only appropriate I should look squared away. :)

Reactions: beans-on-toast
"You're all wearing uniforms," Frank Zappa is said to have told his audience in the Mothers of Invention days.
Some sacrifices we're asked to make for our work are more painless than others. Unlike my military colleagues I could at least choose which suit and tie I got to wear on any given day. :)

Well. Was rather a bit young at the time to appreciate.

Which begs the question, what were you wearing before you put on your uniform?.

You wouldn’t want to get into a firefight wearing anything but your uniform.

Well, in reality, I found I didnt actually want to get into firefights while wearing it either. But, like most things, I learned that a few minutes too late to do me any good. :woot:
