A hidden gem, such a woeful soulful Memphis ballad. That character has lent itself to this song being used in movies and covered by many, even by Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett. That says a lot.

This is a fantastic performance. Growing up in Miami, I'm more familiar with Wayne Cochran's version. A little faster but(almost)equally powerful. FWIW, I went to high school with one of his trumpet players who did the high harmonies on Wayne's rendition.
Given that it’s St. Patrick’s Day and all, here’s a wee band from Dublin, The Commitments. A talented group of performers. Members of the now famous Corrs were in the film in non-singing roles.

I choose wisely
Obligatory Mean Old Lady gripe: these days with phones in cameras or cameras in GPS units or whatever it is we use to read our T*tter feed, every freakin' photo is a vertical. Back when cameras were cameras you had to pull teeth to get the photographers to take a vertical. And if you use a medium format get in the darkroom and make me a contact sheet!

Funny thing, that, not even certain if I've ever watched The Quiet Man!
I've played at 2 St. Patrick's Day Dinner/Dances this week. Both served corned beef and cabbage. Close(not really),no cigar

Turning the phone sideways seems like "work" to some ... but I also heard tell of people saying moving their fingers is "work".
