Can I 'borrow' that as an explanation for my losses(hair and color)?Drink that wine...it may solve that thing with your hair color. I know because it turned mine all white, although I have lost a bit as well

Been a crazy day, sorry for my delay.
I love this song, as always, another great selection. A bit of soul heaven from a man that was blind since birth.
Hooks that catch your ear. The unique bright termolo guitar and organ kick it off and make you sit up and listen. Then that emotional vocal! But the brass is so smooth, it sets the mood and helps make the song.
When most people think of Clarence Carter, another of his well know songs comes to mind, Patches. I think of Back Door Santa. A suggestive song that was also released in 1968 on the Soul Christmas compilation album.

A lot of songs had synth bass at the time. A dark era for bass and guitar.
I sleep on the "Chesterfield".
They called sofa's that when I was a kid. British influence I suppose. You Hoovered the floor no matter which company made it. And a refrigerator was a frigidaire.
.. and many called a bass guitar a Fender bass.

Fiddle dee dee, used to be old folk didn't get to live long enough to enjoy their cataracts. Hey there's a lot of old-time conditions that don't get near enough attention. Chillblains. Lumbago. I’ve been trying to convince my Bride to put some Blue, or Purple, or Pink, or Pinkle, or Watermelon, or Chartreuse, or by-gawd Green, or Sumpin’ in her beautiful salt n pepper hair!

When I was in 'stage band' in the 70's, the sheet music was designated for "Fender Bass".
I remember ‘reading’ parts written for Fender Bass in 1970.
We were at the Darwin Martin House, yesterday. The kitchen still has several large iceboxes that are still in use (if I heard the docent correctly, they get ice delivered every day).
"In the 1950s and 1960s, all bass guitars were often called the "Fender bass", due to Fender's early dominance in the market." But I, too, noticed that trend going on much longer, and in occasional written instances.
