Concert posters are not considered green and are frowned upon. They are banned in a lot of areas because pasted up posters are a blight on the neighborhood.

So there’s an app. Like a server farm doesn’t have a carbon footprint. Those that cry global warming will never give up conveniences like cell phones. They do like to give up anything that they don’t have or like.

From a time when posters were allowed. Bands played.

Wow, Beans...thanks for that trip down memory lane! I remember that being played, loud, at Kelly-DeYoung Sound in Vancouver, BC back then. They were demoing a high-end speaker system that created a wall of sound. I stood there in shock...the percussion parts were amazing.

The same thing struck me when I watched it. The drums, tambourine, shaker, cow bell...they were really bringing it home in the middle section..

Ruth Buzzi is still with us

My uncle Benny died in his sleep last night.
He was 93.
He came to NYC from County Louth in Ireland in 1955. I swear that he still sounded like he’d just gotten off the boat when I talked to him on Opening Day!

He had a helluva good run!

Sorry for your loss. Been a tough week. In addition to the celebrity deaths, you lost your uncle and another friend lost his mom. She died yesterday at the age of 97. My sincere condolences to you and your family.

While it is a sad time for those left behind, the ages people are passing at seems to be going up. People passing in their 90's? Yeah, that's a GREAT run. Frankly, at age 63, I'm hoping to make it to 75. That would give me a good 6-8 years to enjoy retirement. Having a child pass at the age of 16 may give me a different perspective on this.

Not to suddenly change the subject or anything... (yeah, I know, too late) I gave away my P-bass Sunday. My son, the already incredibly talented pianist and percussionist, has been trying to broaden his musical horizons for several years to include the bass. He had already grabbed my cheapest (and crappiest) 5-string to play around with. He's been struggling somewhat and I keep telling him he needs to try a better bass, preferably a four string. He finally brought the crap bass back Sunday when he came to visit mom. I gave him my MIM P-bass with Precision flats on it. He already sounds and plays better. Hopefully this will encourage him to work at it more. He's a very talented kid.
