Yes, he was, may he RIP. The posts I do on Soulful Sundays are almost exclusively originals from the '60's. Exceptions have to be the same as, or better that, the originals. Some of Joe Cocker, for example.

For the money, those little Edens are going to be very hard to beat IME. I know Duke has some 8"loaded cabs (Birdhaus), but I'm not aware of any 10" loaded ones at the moment. The Genz Benz line used to have a pretty killer little 110, but I have no idea how easy it might be to find one especially in your part of the world. I think the new Genzler line includes a 110, but I have not heard any of their products. While I have no firsthand experience with the RevSound cabs, there are some 8" and 10" loaded cabs in the line that get great reviews from people I consider as credible voices.

As reported elsewhere at TB, very, very happy with my TE Elf. It's currently paired with a single PJB Compact 4 because that's the cab whut's available. Given much thought to a "better" cab pairing, having fielded the TE 1x10, Ampeg SVT210AV and PJB Cab 27 as contenders for the title. "Better", meaning for me, better matched for power handling. The C4 will take a lot more juice than the Elf pumps out. The TE 1x10 wins for an easy lug. Over at the Elf thread it gets a lot of love but all the raves are in for two vertically stacked TE 2x8s. Which is really more than I want to carry with the Elf.

Here's a 19 lb. 2x8 you may want to check out.I have a guitarist friend who is also a dear friend I've been working with on and off for 25 years in sleepy Sitka. We've gone through so many incarnations it's become sort of a joke what our name is. Well, yesterday we were shopping and a lady comes up to us and says, "Will, it's exciting to play with you again.." turned out that my friend Bob had committed me to play on 4th of July for two different bands. 3rd of July evening and 4th of July during ceremonies. And I'm getting paid! We usually work for meals!
Bob is Sitka's version of a mild mannered low key Frank Zappa. Kind of left field but grounded in the classics. So wife was there most of the holidays doesn't like me to play but was on the spot in front of the singer-- so we're playing on the 3rd and 4th. Glad the singer asked Carey first!
As @Al Kraft and @Passinwind know very well I have a pair of excellent Eden EX110's that I use with my Gallien Krueger MB-500. I also have an MB200 that I've been trying to find a second cabinet for but to no avail. Seems like I can't find a 110 (shipped to Alaska) that can outperform my EX110's for the size and price.
I had kicked around the idea of buying the Trace Elliott Elf with the 208 cab but I don't know if I'll like it. This may sound wimpy but the TE 208 cab is 5 pounds heavier than my EX110's. I think subconsciously I just know I should keep the EX110's and if needed add an EX110 4ohm for my MB200 as a backup system. Decisions decisions...
