I gotta call shenanigans-or staged.
My first car was a 1959 Vauxhall Victor. It was an adventure in a small, slow package.OMG! My dad bought one of these when we were kids in Wrangell in the early 60's. It was pretty stylish at the time. I also remember a Rambler wagon with wings. I took that one out for a drive one night when Mom and Dad went to sleep. Dirt roads, I hit all of 30 mph!

My first car looked about like this VW 412. The tenor saxophone is my instrument in this age.
...Occasionally make it to a Florida Fire Frogs(minor league affiliate) game in Kissimmee. $6/seat and a decent facility.<ADDENDUM>

My first ride was pretty much like this VW camper van. Lots of room for equipment and other such non-equipment goings on.

We didn't take any epic road trips in it, but at one time we had one of those station wagons with a rear-facing seat in back - fun. 
We usually went on camping trips instead of vacations, but our longest trip was riding the Super Chief (that was the name on the engine) train to California and yes, we went to Disneyland.

Those rear-facing seats in the wagon usually means one of the kids is going to throw up.

Strong stomachs in my family - I don't recall any vomiting episodes.
Guessing someone at the wheel never challenged the kids to count all the utility poles.

I decided to make up for the lack of cool in my father's automotive choices by making this my first car. My decidedly uncool dad loved it so much that he went out and bought one for himself in a different color, which he later wrecked.
I think that is called "orienteering". Were you oriented???
It's Saturday! It's (supposedly) also new bass day, although UPS hasn't updated their tracking yet this morning. As of yesterday evening it was still on its way to me, due to be delivered sometime between 11:00 AM and 3:00PM today.
I am a little nervous that I won't love it since I've never played this model (Sire P7); it was highly recommended by many on the forum here so I took a chance. The fact that they had it in translucent white sent me over the top on this purchase.
If it works out, it will fill a hole in my arsenal (inexpensive p/j fiver) and will likely be the last bass I buy for a while. If it doesn't work out I may flip it and buy a Schecter Model T fiver because I know I love my Model T 4 string. We shall see.
Because my husband and I are still working but both will be retiring in a few years (he's retiring next year, me probably in another five), I'm hoping to get all my gear needs settled while we still have the income to pay it off. I need one more cabinet and probably a small assortment of pedals and that's going to be it until something blows up or falls apart. At least I keep saying that....
