Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

It's Saturday! It's (supposedly) also new bass day, although UPS hasn't updated their tracking yet this morning. As of yesterday evening it was still on its way to me, due to be delivered sometime between 11:00 AM and 3:00PM today.

I am a little nervous that I won't love it since I've never played this model (Sire P7); it was highly recommended by many on the forum here so I took a chance. The fact that they had it in translucent white sent me over the top on this purchase.

If it works out, it will fill a hole in my arsenal (inexpensive p/j fiver) and will likely be the last bass I buy for a while. If it doesn't work out I may flip it and buy a Schecter Model T fiver because I know I love my Model T 4 string. We shall see.

Because my husband and I are still working but both will be retiring in a few years (he's retiring next year, me probably in another five), I'm hoping to get all my gear needs settled while we still have the income to pay it off. I need one more cabinet and probably a small assortment of pedals and that's going to be it until something blows up or falls apart. At least I keep saying that....
'Til something new comes out(amp, pedal, bass, etc)

My dad had one. He described the 4 gears as creep, crawl, walk and trot.

Everybody called them "moving roadblocks." Only on a good day.

We used it to pull a boat(yes, on a trailer-Jeff Foxworthy)down to the keys-b4 they widened part of US1. Ticked off a lotta people by 'blocking' the 1 lane each direction, no "passing zones" highway. Got a lot of 'rot eyes' that day.

No mean bones in my father.:)

No one to challenge the kids to see who can finish their ice cream cone first?

Is it considerrd camping when your parents drop you off in the woods?

Don't make me play this Allen Sherman song again!

I decided to make up for the lack of cool in my father's automotive choices by making this my first car. My decidedly uncool dad loved it so much that he went out and bought one for himself in a different color, which he later wrecked.

That's a major ride there.

I think that is called "orienteering". Were you oriented???

Don't make me play Joe's Garage again!

Mine had the sunroof and porthole windows. Not me, Orifficer.

A strong side wind is to be reckoned with in a Kombi.

AKA "dragonfly" - drags up the hill and flies down the hill. First heard in reference to my father's TR3.

A few times. I have a great sense of direction soutdoors but I can get lost in large buildings. Which brings up: why do they call it a "building" if it is completed?

Because your English teacher will discipline you if she hears you say "builded".

Try the side wind pulling a pair of 28' "wiggle wagons"

We see triples out here in The Gorge pretty often. The Gorge can be a very, very windy place. Picking your passing zone around those things requires real deliberation at times, especially in the winter when black ice is also happening.

We don't have triples in FL. We do have "Turnpike Doubles": 2x45, 48 or 53 footers.:wideyed:

It sounds like you knew my English teacher. Now for a story about her. She took half the class period to explain some things that would be pn our final exam. She asked if anyone had any questions. One student, Jimmy, raised his hand and asked, "Mrs. Holmes, why do you wear a man's wristwatch?" Her mouth dropped open, she stood in stunned silence, started crying, and went to sit at her desk for the rest of the period.

We still don't know why she wore a man's watch.

To be serious for a moment (I know, I know! :roflmao:) Perhaps the watch belonged to a deceased father/husband/brother/etc.?

Okay, time to get back to normal, again. :)
