I thought your area had lots of trees, just cut one down. Make sure it's a 'light' one though.I figure I have around 3 years left at work. I'm kinda youngish for my age (wife would say sometimes childish) and I love the group I work with. I work for the city government. I remember when I was young all the workers looked so much older, now half of them or more are younger than our kids! Keeps me young minded I guess.
But yeah, I'm still going to buy a couple basses and sell a couple. I've got a nice small PA and 8 lights (LED) and need to buy a light tree. Ahhh I never get tired of toys!
Video in portrait mode is the enemy and a huge pet peeve of mine! Unfortunately, Facebook has decreed that you may only shoot live video on their feed that way. If you shoot in landscape mode, it posts sideways. I've had to fix a few of those using third party software. One of them somehow came out flipped around, making all of us look like we're playing left-handed. It's frustrating.
Needs vs. wants. The age old conundrum. I think sometimes we need to just treat ourselves to something nice, just because
Factory strings sound pretty good right now. I'll eventually swap them out for lighter gauges but not in a hurry to do it.
You ain't lyin'! Sometimes I think about going back to "work" just to get some rest. But, at least, now it's a more enjoyable kinda 'busy' with, usually, more enjoyable people, or family, as needs be.

'Struth! I now recall how I used to revel in my dilemma of choosing either my P-bass or my Jaguar, both active, long scale. But, somehow, I now find I'm always grabbing the Starcaster semi-hollow, short scale! Auck!! I gotta get outta this rut, while I still can!!!

One of the guitarists I work with has a shortscale Gretsch that he bought cheap and had tuned up by a good luthier he knows. He handed me that thing at a practice one day and, man, it felt and sounded nice! I hadn't touched a shortscale since I sold my EB-0 back in the early 80's. Made me think I might want one some day. Some day. Didn't I just say I don't need any more basses?

Once when nearly everyone carried Kodak Instamatic-shaped cameras, you couldn't get portrait shots from the staff photographers for love or money. Now when nearly everyone carries cellphones, landscape mode is as rare as a new metaphor goes here.

and I ain't lying, that Starcaster is beautiful!
Half looking (as in not yet serious, not serious like take my money now serious) at the older Gretsch Junior Jet with the TV Jones pickup. Can be found in the $200 range.

Yeah, I'm definitely old enuff-by a bunch-to remember all those ads that today would result in protests, lawsuits or 'going outta business' sales.

It's amazing. Even the slightest inuendo today can get an destroy a decent person even before they're proven innocent. Corporations fire executives over unproven accusations. I work on computers and nowadays never ever work in an office with a lady and the door closed. You can never be too careful.
As an Alaskan native I grew up in a matriarchal home. No problem with having a strong wife. She keeps me on the right track. But I bring home the bacon and she cooks it. She runs the home and I'm grateful for that. Most young families today both parents have to work to keep food on the table. We live in scary times.
