I was a lad stationed in Germany and we often made trips to France... I fell in love every time I saw one of these bands with the beautiful continental singers.... Something so attractive about a young lady singing in French.... That lad is long gone but the memories are fond...

Pomplamoose is based in California. Their videos are interesting because they are what you see is what you hear. They show you all the parts.

My MacBook Pro makes the bass sound like it’s being played though a 5W amp and a 6x9 speaker! I think I need a new laptop - this one’s ten years old. :(

Using headphones helps. I use Blue Lola’s. They are light and comfortable. For the money, they sound very good. They also make a good studio headphone.

The newer Mac models do have better sound. The latest iPad is impressive, sounding quite good, but the price is right up there with a laptop.

And now for something completely different from Pomplamoose. They have some interesting work. (Jack Conte is the one behind Patreon.)

French hillbillies?

... some tasty licks.

It's all cute until you hear it every day.

Woah. That song gets a lot of play when I am at university and yes can recall the circumstance. There is a semi-formal party every Wednesday night (yes, some lemonade ;) is served).

I just looked up the prices: $2199 for one and $2599 for the better one.

:crying:

I’ll try a trip to the Apple store to see if one of their Techs can solve the problem.

Love you like chicken!

Oh yeah, in the South if you order iced tea it's gonna be sweet.

... nearly forgot ... a Rick bass playing friend born and raised in Louisiana just absolutely hates butter beans. Hates, hates, hates. And this is what he says they give him when he's doing time for a (oops) DUI. The butter beans makes what's bad even worser, he says.

I tried it-once-with the flaky layered biscuits. Nope. Gotta be a good ole Southern style biscuit. Them's good eats, right there.:)

Creamed chipped beef on toast
is probably all I need to say here
except
take notice of when you begin to look forward to it

Those whop on the counter to open things aren't biscuits. They are related to bread of sorts.

And in all truth, I don't bake.

Of course the universe needs to prove me wrong. Set and setting is 23 days in rehab, and Becky directs me after exercise to the kitchen. We am baking a caek today. It's from a box and it's going to be a sponge cake. And do not know until reading the directions on the box that a sponge cake is made with vegetable oil. Do not know this on account of I don't bake.

Friend of mine, who by chance shares my birthday day and year, has an arrangement in her home. You want dessert, go out and buy it. She is most forthright in declaring her lines.

And perfectly good with this, myself, but today Becky is directing me to bake a caek. We go back to some exciting exercise as it bakes, and then! Frosting!

Seriously, do not read the ingredients list on canned caek frosting.

Now it's caek for eveyone in physical therapy and I take the opportunity to politely decline.

However there is something new down where I buy my healthy coffee bean juice. Two shots of espresso served over a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream. :: faint ::

Family in Texas indulges in food such as chicken fried steak and white gravy.

This guy’s family recipe. I don’t imagine that people in their family live too long.

American male attempt at a roux.

Seriously what's he thinking. If you're going to make a heart attack on a plate you start with rendered salt pork. :sour:

First morning at boot camp. We go to breakfast, I grab my oversized TV dinner tray. I see and get some toast points and extend the tray toward the poor schlub serving the chipped beef in gravy. He ladles some on, I don't move. "You want more?", says he, incredulously. "yes", says I. That was in 64 and he may still be shaking his head. Love that stuff-and butter beans.

What did they serve you for the other two meals.
