I don't get the lack of acknowledgement deal either. For me it's both common courtesy (apparently not so common anymore) and professional force of habit having spent my entire adult working life in the military and aviation worlds.My bro-in-law has been applying for(regular)jobs. It's rather nice, really, not updating my [day job] resume.
What I observe upon presenting the resume is that moment I see the "you did what? look" cross the interviewer's face. Truly these are better tales told over refreshments than in an office.

The young generation certainly has changed. And I'm not being just a grumpy old fart. Today we went to three different stores shopping. Not one young person asked if we found everything we were looking for. Then they ask, "need a receipt?" Uhhh yeahhh! Would you like a bag? Uhhhh yeahhhh!!!! Then not even a "thank you." The young people conducting business act so consumed within themselves where they are nearly oblivious to external events.
I look at young people and think-- was I like that? I think not. I dressed up when appropriate, tipped the help, said yes sir yes ma'am and opened doors for ladies. Everyone under 50 walks around watching their smartphones that seem to be permanently attached to their hands.
So don't anyone be surprised when these mild sociopaths don't acknowledge your applications, call you back, say thank you, or acknowledge you. They're too busy texting.

This comes from the top. It's "management". People are handled as "resources" with little, if any, latitude in their day. Can't recall any useful exchanges with Human Resources, ever. HR is Human Remains, not Human Resources.
Anyway it's Monday, a very busy day. Busy indeed. We've today and tomorrow to finish what we're on to, no pressure
Monday, Blues Monday, how about some Buddy Guy, Jack Bruce and Buddy Miles.
Now that Jack Bruce guy is rocking an EB and there is part of me who actually wants one even in the knowledge it's a one-trick pony with very limited use. A current Gibson SG is far more interesting to me as a bass, but I think they took the mud out.

They can play, can’t they. No blues over that.
Jack Bruce appears to be playing a WEM transistorized amp, departing from his Marshalls. Pink Floyd and the Who used the same brand at the time. David Gilmour still uses his on stage along with the Watkins tape echo from the same company.

That's down to enviromentality. Most places charge 5 cents a bag where I shop, the bags are still out there, how does that help the environment! I’m required to put garbage into a plastic bag.
A reciept is deemed a waste of paper, some will email you a receipt. Like the internet and servers don't have an energy footprint that requires natural resources to generate. Kids will never give up anything related to their digital world, the environment is not a concern there.

Like surf musicians, country players always have to be in tune. They start off with a strum that ensures that the guitar is in tune. More than singing the blues, with the instruments a little sharp or flat here and there adds rawness.

hey fellow GOF's, quick head, cab question. picked up a PJB 600 head and 2 4X5 cabs. is it better to run speakon 1 to each cab from the head or daisy chain cabs or does it not really matter? thanks
Electrically it doesn’t matter.
With two cables on the head, one going to each cabinet, you have redundancy. Redundancy is good. Chances are remote but If one cable fails or gets pulled due to a klutz walking on it, one cab will still function.
How does the amp sound with the two cabs?

the cabs have the pirahna speakers, so it sounds great. very crisp and clear handles low end quite well too
I fully agree about the TBird club... I stayed there for a long time cause the people were so nice, especially Gone Plaid and Christine. And when I admitted I don’t own a TBird, no one gave me any grief at all... just great folks

My first real bass was a Gibson EB-3(1966). One thing that amazed me about Jack Bruce's tone was how he got his EB-3 to sound like that(a sound I don't like). AFAIK, he used the bridge pup only. I fooled around with the (then)4 position switch[current EB-3s have a 3 position switch-bridge, bridge/neck, neck]and couldn't find a blend between the 2 pups that I liked, so I only used the neck pup: Nice, fat, low thundering bass. I could keep up with guitarists using Twin-or Super-Reverb 7enders while I was using a 50W piggyback bassman*. There may not have been the punch/clarity that seems to be the prevalent tone of today, but there was no shortage of bottom. Before I got my TBird, I used the EB-3 for every type of music I was called on to play: Rock, country, big band and stage shows. The 'mud' comes from the neck pup but EQ on the bass and/or the amp can 'fix' that-or not!
I have a Squire VM Jaguar SS bass
as my backup/tight space bass. It's "OK", but what I wanted when I needed(?)a short scale was a black Epi EB-0. Nothing but cherry was available and I don't like their cherry finish(JMO).Point of all this being, try an EB-0. Ya might like it[or not]. I'd bet it would sound bodacious through your PBJ.

Had to skip a bit in the first video to listen to the Robert Johnson stuff. If we call it the mid-80s SumGai is telling me all about Robert Johnson and I'm all, "that's a made up name". Weren't no YouTube cause computers took up whole rooms. Now maybe it was possible to find Robert Johnson records in the shop but at the time was listening elsewhere. What part of me was kind of rooting for Steve Vai in "Crossroads"? Seem to recall him saying he had to work hard to learn to play mistakes for the camera.
Yeah the C4 is an amazing cab. This is what I say to anybody who looks as if they may listen.
