Numbers come with all the other Broughton HPF/LPFs. The HPF with numbers/footswitch is $25 more. While I understand it's best to adjust a HPF by ear according to the room (?), that laser beam brain wants to see numbers on the dial. Otherwise the Always On looks like a win as I envision a Morrighan-grade pedalboard.
Well, here's a practice track of a song that's been very overdone but a crowd pleaser. We did this song tonight without drums. My fingers started cramping as we had been rehearsing nonstop for 2 1/2 hours.. but here it is..
LOL What's so funny is that I was playing through a Gallien Krueger MB108 practice combo with an 8" speaker and 25 watts of power! It sounds HUGE but the iPhone was actually closer to the bass than the guitarist and the singer. So that's why I'm so dang loud! LOL Anyway hadn't played this song for a few years. It was fun. We're going to play it tomorrow night.

From my research and writings, If I was gigging and my amp didn't have the controls, I would purchase the Broughton HPF/LPF. It would define the lower/upper ranges of your rig and your amp tone controls react differently when you boost them which gives you another avenue to explore.
I use tube amps so the more controls the better. I would also add a 7 to 10 band eq. pedal for more tone sculpting, especially if your bass is passive.
Anyhoo, Alb, let us know how it goes!
Oh, and be sure to get your rig up on a stand too!
And thanks for listening.
Ya know, I started promoting fdeck's hpf unit for electric bass about 10 years ago. Now look! It's an overnight success.![]()

I’m a Snark kinda guy myself.
Kids today are glued to games on there cell phones.
If Chuck Berry had a cell phone, he might have called it my ding-a-ling. His only Billboard number one single. Hard to understand that one. It was released in July 1972.
I thought it was a play on words relative to "Hi Fi", albeit sort of oddly phrased.Ummm, did anyone notice that it's called the Small Fri but someone left out the "r"?![]()
While I still have the larger tuners, these little head-stock jobs work very nicely for a quick on-stage check. You can also simply pass it over to someone playing out of tune who has no clue and without saying word communicate your message. One o' these(actually 2):[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Thanks, I'm hoping to add an HPF to my rig soon too but haven't been sure what to look for that's affordable.Hi AL,
I watched the eBay listing demo video. Based on the video and comparing it to my HPF, from what I hear, it won't do as much as you'll want/need it to. I mean it does cut some bass but, seems to me, way not like an HPF slope.
I suggest putting the $25 towards an adjustable Broughton always-on HPF or the fDeck v.3(battery and wall powered). Total, around $100, including the separately purchased power supply. Buy once, cry once.
