WRT Tuners:

This has been my tried and true for years (and still visible to these eyes).

All amps have a built in HPF to prevent excessive speaker excursion. Unfortunately, it’s too low to be effective in a mix. Best to have another one.

Nah, best to just build your own amp with whatever features you prefer.

Disclaimer, a.k.a. "do as I say, not as I do" : Don't try this at home.

Thanks, I'm hoping to add an HPF to my rig soon too but haven't been sure what to look for that's affordable.
There are some really good and reasonably inexpensive choices out there IMO. My personal favorite is the fdeck HPF-Pre Series 3. Excellent quality, designed and built by a fellow TB'er, works flawlessly with electric or upright bass. I think the Broughton line of pedals are equally excellent.

I just ordered the Broughton because a quick search for fDeck brought up nothing that was available. If he's building them still, he needs to do a better job with SEO. I know I could have asked Stumbo I guess but I was in the mood for an impulse buy. Hopefully this one will be good enough and I can get the other one when I'm feeling a bit more flush :)

When you are more flush, I think this might get you to fdeck's ordering page:

Web Order Form - hpftechllc

He is still building them (my V3 just arrived today), but I agree - it takes a bit of doing to find his website. (What is SEO, tho'?)

SEO is Search Engine Optimization, which is a series of things you can do to make your website come up better on Google and other search engines.

I actually did come across that page in my search but there was nothing to indicate this was the product I wanted. Dude needs some marketing advice, unless he's doing well enough by referral here that he doesn't care.

I'll check it out next time I'm feeling like dropping the dough, especially if I'm not satisfied with the Broughton. Thanks a bunch!

Well sadly I won't have an HPF tonight but I will be very conscious of my use of the bass EQ. We are doing some gigs throughout the summer and I'll gladly have one for the next time. Rolling off my bass on my small amp was a real eye-opener. Everyone at the rehearsal said my tiny little MB108 sounded excellent. Good advice to be heeded by @Stumbo !

Broughton products are top tier...you will be very happy with your choice IMO.
