C535EB? Here's one just like mine.As do I. On stage though I use an AKG condenser mic which is fabulous. When I bought them they were valued at $600 on sale for $129.
A good song to awaken to.
I think he was just annoyed 90% of the time. Those 70’s prog songs always set a mood and take me back to a state of mind in past.
Rick Wakeman always looks so serious. He has an interview show on the BBC, he comes across as a regular guy.
If I may be so bold as to join the roll call....
No gigging (nor is any on the near horizon), but I do I have my first pair of hearing aids, as befits a GOF. It's really something to hear frequencies over 2 kHz. So I plan to listen to music - such fun.
Just call them in ear monitors. It would be neat if you could stream directly to them.

And other appendages shrink. It's true, your nose and ears keep growing as you get old(er).![]()
I don't think "Like" is the proper response to that! And other appendages shrink.![]()

Cool.
I suggest posting your presets in the Rumble club...
We have a theme song? No one told me...or maybe they did? Awesome...anyone remember what it is?![]()
Heh!
Back in fourth grade my report card arrives: "At some point Charles will have to decide between English and Math." Of course I had other ideas, and college turned out not to be one of them, at least not for long.
My bogey was pensmanship. Being a converted lefty or actually more like ambi, I had to work quite hard just to get to "doctor on Ludes." And being a skinny somewhat awkward kid, only a heavily weighted written test on the rules of soccer kept me on the honor roll in junior high. Someone must have talked to that PE teacher, because after that I was suddenly like a B+ PE student. That was right around when I discovered a reasonable talent for skiing too though, happily.
But with all my awkwardness, the worst memory is winning the "best male math student" award in 8th grade. Had to accept it in the scary Senior High gym in front of their graduation shindig, sitting next to my female classmate who was demonstrably better at math and pretty much everything else, and who probably won every other award. She was gracious enough to decline the 20 buck prize I offered up. I just may have bought a slide rule or a hard cover book, don't really remember. A new slot car would have been more in character, and probably more relevant to how things have unfolded as well.![]()
It’s amazing how the human brain works and knows how to interpret visual data. You have to wonder to what extent auditory information is processed in a similar way when fidelity is low. Not just for understanding the content but for positioning it in three-dimensional space.
Some of that goes into lossy audio formats where data volume reduction is desirable. It all started in the early days with Bell band passing copper wire telephone communications. It took too much energy to reproduce the low end.
I was somewhat surprised to realize I was able to read and comprehend this easily. The only thing that slowed me down was the 'e'-instead of 'a'-in "iprmoetnt".![]()
Didn't know you were fluent in Proto-Gaelic. A talented bunch around here.
Good morning GOF's! Happy Friday. Please report that all appendages toes etc accounted for. The heat has gone down and the smoke has dissipated so Sitka finally started cooling down yesterday.
In other minor news, I received my new bass cab from one of the kind TB'ers on TB, and I'm totally blown out of the water. It was economical enough for me to afford it, even with shipping. It's a copy of the DNA DNS112 Micro. The thing weighs 29 pounds and because of its extra large port it sounds HUGE! I'm puzzled because the cabinet looks brand new and was even wrapped in its original plastic wrap. The cab pairs perfectly with my MB200 because it's a 4ohm speaker, so I can coax the full 200 watts out of the 4ohms that the GK MB200 offers.
My Ibanez SR100 P-bass copy cost me $179. It was in such bad shape the seller refunded my shipping which was $40. Now it sounds awesome since I cleaned it up, put new strings on it, and gave it a good going over for neck and bridge adjustments.

Verah naice, congra rats
^ the brain is able to figure out this spelling, somehow, don't ask me?
Present and hoping to make muster.
Bright sunshine and hot out today. Yesterday I got caught in the biggest downpour of the year. No umbrella, soaked to the gills. Of course it lightened up considerably by the time we made it home.
I can’t dance and can’t remember the GOF theme song so I’ll borrow this one. The kids should like it.
I think we're going to get together with some friends and start planning an "end of season" city wide dance at the local convention center. It's when everyone who's visiting--college students, young people, etc.-- get ready to leave after their seasonal jobs end. There's always a lot of food and people there. Looking forward to wishing all the kids a safe journey home!
So what say ye, GOF's? What are you up to this weekend?

Snrrrk! Say wut? Interrupting my nap is serious bidnes Bro.
I was planning on taking a few weeks off from my Friday night jam but the other house bassist is out of town. So I'm bringing in a beginner I've been mentoring for her third or fourth round. She practices every day and frequently asks for more song selections. She mentioned the Dead and Dylan in a text this morning, so I came up with The Byrds' version of You Ain't Goin Nowhere and my two of my favorite Pigpen showcases, Hard To Handle and Good Lovin'. All cover tunes done right, in my book. For the Dead ones I am able to call out specific live performances via The Archive, often ones I attended in person. To keep it interesting I'll work up a quasi-pedal steel thing on slide bass for the Byrds tune, and maybe a B-3 deal on guitar synth for the others. If the boys give me that "this ain't bluegrass" stinkeye they just may get God Save The Queen next time. And yep, my old Deadhead band actually did that one, but what would you expect from a band called The Raging Maggots? Coincidentally, 4 of the original five members of that band are playing in Seattle this evening, at the same iconic dive bar I used to play in with them pretty regularly in the mid-80s. The 35th anniversary of their first live performance pops in November and I just might have something to say about that. But first, back to my regular program...zzzzzz.
Our group has a trio gig tonight-my turn to be off. Might go in and harass them by requesting "Edmund Fitzgerald" or "Alice's Restaurant" or, better yet, "Frank Mills".
We have a reunion gig tomorrow night-all 4 of us, then I have my Sunday afternoon charity thing.
