Was it Beth's? I remember eating many early mornings after gigs in the 70's-80's when we played around Seattle.

Nope it was the Scarlet Tree, as I said somewhere upthread. Really different vibe than Beth's, which I've been to a number of times as well. Nothing exceeds like excess!

Mmmm. Spam!

Scramble spam and you get amps.

Been so long since I've eaten Spam I couldn't say if I like it or not. But there's enough memory to remind me it's a close cousin of Vienna sausages. So going to take a pass.

... ever eat canned stew from a vending machine for "dinner"?

... or eaten those pickled sausages sold at the p̶u̶b̶ lemonade stand?

... ever fuel a day on only coffee and Skittles?

... ever wake up on the floor next to an empty bottle of Magic Shell?

For us in DC it was the Tastee Diner which, miraculously, still exists. Many a night was capped by a visit to the TD in the wee hours after all the gear was packed up and loaded. A good night's work was one that ended with a run to TD and still got me home in time to watch Rocky and Bullwinkle reruns at around sunrise.

Hi @Al Kraft :) I was just bestolling my wisdom on a young 'un about the magic of the Eden EX110's and he's contemplating getting 2 x EX112's. I mentioned to him that the GK MB500 is a good pairing, but didn't mention the Mesa Boogie 800 because being young, he might blow up the speakers!. I will also send him a link from @Stumbo 's megathread about HPF's. I'm beginning to realize I'm a cheapskate, I need to pull the trigger on a good HPF instead of trying to buy a cheapie off eBay.

I'm almost afraid to ask what "Spork" is...

Today a spork is a utensil which is a combination of a spoon and fork.

I imagine that Spork is made from pork offal: the internal organs, lips, ears, nipples, brain, etc. A nearby butcher shop sells pig feet, ears, heads, belly, fat, and tails in the front window. The rest is inside.

You're not going to like this, but as a result of a stint in a salmon cannery (Kenai, maybe), I grew to hate, hate, hate salmon. It took me quite a few years to welcome it back into my diet.
Being Alaska Native, I grew up on salmon. It's probably one of the few good things I really do well for myself is eating salmon! LOL. I'm glad you turned it around and started eating it again. Wild salmon is one of the most nutritious pure ways of giving your body a lot of good stuff it needs. I won't lecture but I'm sure you already know. Good on you!

@beans-on-toast what sounds questionable sometimes turns out delicious. Carey and I sometimes watch Bizarre Foods and the guy eats the oddest things. Says it tastes like chicken!

The F is Magic Shell?

Pickled eggs are an old Wisconsin bar staple. I like them a lot.

I imagine that your version of off the boat, net, or fishing line salmon is not what most get to experience.

Although a lot of northern communities can/preserve their salmon for the year, so it isn't always fresh.

@Morrighan ever have yourself some steak and kidney pie? When I was at the University of Washington I used to go to a British Pub called the Unicorn. They did the restaurant up like an old English pub. Served local microbrews and English beers long before it became popular. One of my favorite meals was the steak and kidney pies. I hope one day to get to London to try a real one, and the other bucket list item is English fish and chips on a newspaper!

One day I decided to cook some beef kedneys for my dog. I didn't know that you're supposed to soak them before cooking to remove all urine traces. The place reeked of cow pee. He enjoyed them anyway.
