For us in DC it was the Tastee Diner which, miraculously, still exists. Many a night was capped by a visit to the TD in the wee hours after all the gear was packed up and loaded. A good night's work was one that ended with a run to TD and still got me home in time to watch Rocky and Bullwinkle reruns at around sunrise.

As a sprout in Green Bay, WI, we would have the Blackstone and George Webb Restaurants. A busload of skinny white kids playing soul and R&B gigs at country tavern / dancehalls / CYO dances. I don't associate the Blackstone with Boris and Natasha but rather their own version of poutine.
