You are correct. It says Maestro. It’s the cheapest of cheap Maestro by Gibson guitar. The neck was sawn 2/3 to 3/4 through at the 13th fret(approximately), and he still couldn’t break it.

Ah, the time I smashed up a guitar on stage was an awful Satellite Strat copy with the neck made from a rejected baseball bat. I sawed through 1/2 of the way (no sign of the truss rod if there was one) and it still kept in tune. My resoldering of the electronics didn't last a whole song. I smashed it onto concrete steps by the edge of the stage and the neck broke. The pieces actually got collected by someone and a new guitar built on its ashes and donated to charity.

Ah, I see he should have had the guitar the other way round if he wanted it to break. I smashed mine wood side down to avoid smashing holes in the concrete steps and because it was certain to snap the neck.

Sadly, yes. Most of them are unplayable, and will frustrate a beginner into never playing an instrument again. Best Buy has a few.
