I have an eb0 that i have. Great instrument, very easy to play and has a really cool woofyness to it. Having said that I am on the market for a pbass again as it is lacking some thump.

My favorite is the EB from the 1950s. My Epi EB-1 is very similar and actually has the huge single coil pickup from a circa 1954 Gibson EB in it. Very different tone than the later humbuckers in the EB1 reissue, EB0, etc.
BTW: I haven't found a Fender bass that I like yet. String spacing is too wide as are the necks. To each his own.

Some EB-2s are just magic and I like thunderbirds, EB-0s an, of course, an Explorer bass.

Which one? They made at least two different Les Paul basses during their "classic" years: the Les Paul Triumph, and the Les Paul Signature.

And I vaguely recall a more recent model...something w/ more modern features, possibly even a 34" scale? Can't remember if I'm confabulating that or if I really saw it in a Musician's Friend catalog sometime in the past 20 years...probably was called the Les Paul Underpants bass.

It is not quite a Gibson, but the Epiphone Jack Casady bass is nice. T-birds are too long and all the others I have played did not do "it" for me. I say let them make guitars, that is about all they are decent at...I am using the word decent very loosely...their QC has gone to hell.
