The head looked like an EKO also, but I couldn't see for sure. I changed my tb name from mrnylon, to gsgbass. #305 here on Gibson.

Also, my 2015 SG Std. is a Great playing Axe! Gibson did it right, and I don't regret acquiring it one bit.

Holy T-Bird! What an awesome collection!

Gibson EB. Other than the neck dive, I'm liking it a lot. Tons of tonal possibilities, and lots of thump. It's not as yellowed as the pictures appear, but it is a creamy off-white. Should age well.

Picked this up on a lark recently, the previous owner had installed Thunderbird pickups in it. The bridge cavity was too shallow for the PU so I had to route it out a little deeper. I also rounded off the fret ends because they were a little sharp for me. After those adjustments it really came together, good deep rich tone, great action. A little foam under the strings and it has a great old R&B tone. Been a nice addition to the color palette.

The Lead pup, the Bridge pup is the Alniico 2.

That's a beauty! It's funny - I'm not a big fan of the Gold on Les Pauls or Jack Casadys (I prefer the other colors); but I think it looks great on the EBs. I'm actually liking the stock pickups on mine, but the Thunderbirds might sound good too. Enjoy!

That is nice!! I thought for a moment that used to be my old bass, but I don't think it is. I had one in that off-white. Bought it last year from a TB'er, sold it last fall to another. Great basses though.

I'll post my pics in about a week. I currently posses a 2013 Fireburst EB 4-String, and I just completed an order for a Fireburst 5-String. I'll show both off once I get it.

No, this was a new-old-stock from Musicians' Friend. Double-boxed with case candy, warranty cards, etc. I've been very pleasantly surprised with it. I had a Gibson Les Paul bass in the early '90s, but didn't care for it too much. I favor passives, which was one thing that intrigued me with this one, along with the dual humbuckers with single-coil switching. Nice comfortable neck, too!

Hi All
Very thrilled with my latest Gibson bass . 1970/1971 EB3L. I love the slotted headstock.
Only issue I have is neck pickup output. I've had a 1967 EB2D and the varitone should be the same and the tones in the ballpark.
1) Neck with choke: good and dubby
2) Bridge: good
3) both pickups: good but very much like bridge
4) Neck: weak and not as loud as bridge
If i tap on the pickups I get response from bridge and not neck...Volume controls behave the way they should with dependancies.
I think there is either a wiring issue or an output one at the neck.
Does anyone know what the output values should be?
I'll bring it to my luthier to check.
