I'd like a # please. This is my 2014 SG Special Chocolate Satin.Love this bass and came across it totally by chance.Put some D'addario Nylon Tapewounds on it and its a beast.

My next Gibson will either be another Special in Fireburst or an EB.I'd love to get my hands on a Grabber though.

Your Chocolate Satin looks super man.

Yep! I made it through yesterday ok. so,….. mid afternoon should be about delivery time.

Well, the SG Std. was delivered, and it had a bit of shipping damage from within the new Gibson wonder hardshell case. So,…… Wed. morning I'm going to exchange this SG Std. for the one they are holding for me at the shop. Oh well.

Wow did it get drop kicked instead of drop shipped?

Beats the Hell out of me. I wonder how this new case is supposed to protect the SG Std. in the case if it falls 15 feet as Gibson claims it to do. The case did actually cause the minor damage to the tip of the SG Std.'s left horn. At least the old case held it in place.

Wow! What an absolutely amazing finish! :D
Thanks! They're getting really hard to find.
Consequently I'm getting more nervous about it being my daily player. Love the look and sound but now I'm seriously considering getting an SG Standard that I can be a little wilder with, so this one can spend more time in its case. It would be the first time I've ever bought a duplicate bass (my profile kinda shows that) but I just love the sound and playability of the SG so much!

Now that's a sweet looking one! Let us know how you like the new style bridge vs the older one. Also, don't be swinging this axe around like the one in your avatar!;)

Thanks, I can't stay away from these SG Std. style basses. The new style bridge plays very good. Intonation from the factory strings, to the Nylons is right on. The factory strings have the same gauge for the E, A, and D. (.105, .85, .65) The factory G is .45, the Nylon G, is .50. Close enough to not make a difference. "Electric Lady" is a beast playing through the Hartke HD150.
