Just received this last week to go with my SG and LP basses.. 1974 EB-3L absolutely loving it.

Well I finally acquired a 2014 Gibson EB bass , here's my thoughts on it, best thing is it is pretty light, the neck is very similar to the newer fender precision bass necks, the body finish is kinda cheap as others have noted ( wood grain pores not filled and kinda sloppy coating work ) but as a players bass that really doesn't matter to me, as this is a kinda inexpensive bass when compared to the upper end of the boutique bass that are available, I had the bass fitted with TI flatwounds and had the bass set-up to my preferences, by my local luther, I only have played it with headphones through my 3Leaf Audio-Enabler practice system- with Sony MDR-7506 headphones, the electronics are pretty noise-free, and the functions of the coil-tap set-up are some what interesting, only in a live setting will revel what the sound will be like ... all in all, I'm kinda happy with this bass,...time will tell ... a lite bass on a 4 hour gig is really what has me kinda exicited on playing this bass in a band setting

I'm in for the second time. The EB-2dc is getting a friend. A 2013 EB. I wouldn't mind eventually having a Gibson Thunderbird, but for the time being, the fretless Epi holds down that part of the herd.
Yes it is but maybe not so long for the Midtown. It has developed a rattling noise in the neck pickup so it's going back. The Thunderbird is is still my #1 though and I'm checking into a RD Artist now.
Don't tell the others, but the one in the middle is my favorite.
If that's the only issue you're experiencing with the bass, try taking off the chrome cover and putting a little piece of foam (or something similar) between the cover and pickup. Both my Midtown and SG special had the same rattle. Easy, cost-free fix.
I've already shipped it out. It had some high frets also. I just feel like if I'm gonna pay that much for something it should be flawless like my Thunderbird. Heck I even have a couple of $170 SX basses that are flawless. No sense in putting up with a poorly built instrument.
I just ponied up for this today:
NOS 2013 EB4 in fireburst satin. It sounds absolutely huge, and is nice and lightweight. The neck feels pretty similar to my old Honeyburst P Bass, which is awesome. I need to put a little oil on the fretboard and change the strings, but that's it. It set up pretty easily once I found the truss rod wrench in the case. I went to my local shop with the intent on buying a used SG Standard in great shape, but the body felt too small for me. It's an issue that I found has come up with the SG body during a previous tryout, but I was going to give it another go because I love the sound of the SG. The shop had the EB4 hanging up next to it, so I gave it a try after putting the SG back. The above pics say it all!

One of my local shops had it. They get a good variety of basses, but it takes them a while to move them sometimes. I bought a NOS 2012 Fender P Bass from them last month. 2 wins in a little over a month from the same shop. I'm not complaining! I should have gotten this one sooner.
Does anyone here know if the Gibson Memphis 335 bass will fit in the Epiphone Jack Casady case? I have a 335 on the way, but would rather use a different case for gigging since I'm not easy on my gear, and I'd like to save the factory case. With the 335 being a limited run, finding another factory case in the event I trash the original will probably be pretty much impossible.
Sign me up, a couple of Rippers, a Grabber and a G3, and an RD Artist. Oh, and a 1957 ES-175, and a 60s SG 6 stringers.
