If you're a Ripper fan there's an interesting celeb owned one (deceased bassist for Alice N Chains) on Reverb right now. Looks like good provanance and the price isn't too bad if it's legit.

I'm maxed right now for equipment purchases. Wah!!!!

Besides, right now there's a really neat SB-300 in the TB classifieds, and a snazzy red Victory Standard on eBay I'd want even more.

I'm also not a collector. I just wanted a second Ripper because I've had too many attempts made to 'borrow' my original one whenever I've taken it out lately. So I mainly wanted a backup/quasi-sacrifice one so I'd be less concerned if I wanted to play it out.

I had good expieriences with both fender and ghs precision flats. The Fenders are more growly while the GHS take some time to break in, but then give a very nice and even vintage tone. If you like lower tension, the Thomastik Jazz Flats are also great with less Bass und more pronounced midrange. I have been using these on the Jack Casady for years.

Now I've had a good look through the book I have tried to leave a review for you. I couldn't find where to add it so I sent it via the contact form, I hope that's OK. What a lovely book, much of it was a stroll down memory lane, especially reference to Golden Earring's "Radar Love"

You mean I have a Chinese fake copy!!!! :roflmao:

You can tell Rinus from me if you would that it was that bass line that made me want to play the bass all those years ago, a great song with very special memories for me
