I want in! I have a blonde Ripper that has the punchiest, most rock-a$$ tone I've ever heard. I don't have a good pic of it but it looks a whole lot like Ampeg SVT's Ripper posted above.

The most painful "one that got away" of my musical life was a Flying V bass. It was at a store for like $600 back in the 90s, but they just would not take my MIM Jazz Bass as a trade-in, so I didn't get it. I guess I showed them. Every few months I kick myself again over that one. The V bass had the same electronics as the Ripper, and the neck felt similar.

Next time the GAS fund is up to acquisition level, I'd really like to get a Victory Artist. I saw John Munson play one at an early Semisonic show and that thing snarled like nothing I've heard before or since.

I had heard the Flying Vs didn't sound all that great, but look pretty cool. I guess it all depends.

Wahooo! Gibson Bass!

I have a '77 G3 Ebony that is wicked. I have it strung BEAD and the B string is tighter to my ears than B's on other basses I've played that are meant to have them! Perhaps it's the 34 and 1/2 in. scale + string through body + headstock break angle...

I was happy to not have had to make any mods in order to accomodate the different stringing too. The nut was not snug so it was no prob fitting the B. The bridge fit it fine. It was as simple as stringing it up and doing a set-up which I do myself on all my basses so no money spent. :D

Hey, I want in on this here club. After 30 years playing bass I got this beautiful '66 EB2 from Elderly last Sept. My first Gibson my first short scale and my first hollow bass!

Good sir, that is the most beatiful TB i have ever seen. and that's coming from someone who is not a fan of TBs.
Congratulations and i hope you enjoy this bass, dude.

btw, is that a custom job? never seen those at any store ive been. sorry for the noobish question.

Thanks! I had been GAS'ing for a bird since 1996, but back then they were *so* much more expensive (Canadian dollar was loooow). It sounds fantastic, and the looks are killer - out of all the basses I've ever owned, this one has already gotten the most attention. I still get goosebumps when I pick it up and play ;)

As the good Dr. had said - it's a limited edition: one of the 400 "Guitar of the Week #11" instruments. It was a bit more expensive than the standard ones, but I don't doubt it will hold its value better in the long run due to its rarity.

I want in.......

'76 Thunderbird #1. I bought this one new. All original.

'76 Thunderbird #2. I bought the body/neck on eBay completely stripped of all hardware, pickguards, etc. I was very fortunate to find someone with all the original hardware and no bass. He sold it all to me for a reasonable price.
