Haven't heard of it either, but I did hear recently about a brand of case that fit. Someone posted their gibson and mentioned an after market case. I know I bookmarked it at the time, but I'm not sure where haha. If I can find it again I'll repost it here. I have a protec case that fits my Grabber, but it's apparently long out of production.
Thinking back, it might have been some kind of hybrid case, they're usually a little more flexible.
i'm currently saving up for a grabber, but i have a question. i played a grabber at Rumbleseat Music in Ithaca NY and the sliding pickup didn't seem to want to stay in place, how would i fix that? i'd like to keep it in the neck position but it keeps sliding back to the bridge position as i played it
It's subjective as to where yours will end up but here's what I did. 1975 G-3.
I brought them up to about two nickels thickness from the strings when fretted at the last fret. Then I worked at side to side angle to smooth output across the strings. I then played for a little while along with some tunes. I noted then that they were a bit high for my playing: strings were hitting them. I moved the two neck side down a bit. All was good so I then adjusted the bridge side and middle so output was nice and even across the switch positions. The bridge is quite high and they slope lower towards the neck The bass sings. If you have a new G-3 this method will work too but the pickups used are very different so final setup may vary and the starting point might be too hot. But it's basically the same deal. After you're done you'll do fine tweaks and then it will pretty much be good from then on. At least until you change string gauge, brand, type, material you use.
