Gigs you like to play and why...

I like doing parties and benefits. Yes, you can get paid to play a benefit. The ones I've done always have a lot of people in attendance, they tend to stay for a long time, and the focus is on having fun.

As far as places to play, my favorite so far has been the PACC (Polish American Citizen's Club) in Gardner, MA. Fairly large hall, good sized dance floor, good bar service, the room has good acoustics, and it's a very popular local watering hole. Easiest load in/out anywhere, very modern building.

And the bathrooms are clean.

G-Vegas! My old stomping grounds! That is definitely a good place to play.

Playing our annual vineyard Memorial day weekend soon, of my favorite type of gigs.

The owners and patrons want to hear the Blues and have a great time.

Sure there's alcohol, but no "drunks". Also family friendly and a nice afternoon time slot. And we get paid well.

Tala Vera Cantina in Rochester, NY. The place is small, the stage is small and in kind of a hall and the bar is in a separate section with a TV showing the band above it so people that want to out of the loud can. also has couches and great Mexican food. Sound guy has a fair idea of what he's doing well, the room sounds good, his recordings are kinda weak but w/e. I love playing there, the place has a nice atmosphere.

Rochester doesn't have many great places to play, mostly tired bars past they're prime.
