Girlfriends or wives getting hit-on at gigs?

My wife is pretty hot, even when she's 6 months pregnant like right now, but even before I used to see other guys eyeballing her when we went out. I got my wife a really nice t-shirt that showed off her assets but on it said, "I Love The Bass Player" with a picture of an old Fender P Bass on it. I would go out and dudes would look at her and then look at me and say to themselves, "Oh, he must play the bass."

I wouldn't really notice what was going on while we were on stage but no one really approached her when she was with me or close by me since I'm 6'2" and built like a football player.

My wife can take care of herself for the most part. I pity the fool that crosses the line with her. (Usually that guy is me!)

HAHAHAHAHAH!!! We must have married the same woman. In all honesty, as long as the guy hitting on her, or dancing with her is a gentleman, I've got no problem with it. In fact, I much prefer to see her dancing her _utt off all night and having a great time then sitting. To me if jealousy is a sign of immaturity or lack of confidence, and IME, that most guys grow out of it.

As far as flirting goes, my wife and I are both Cuban and latin women (incase you don't know) have perfected flirting to an art form. I consider it a turn on when she flirts. ;)

Up to a point, I thought this was going to be THE BEST POST of the thread…

When I see chick hitting on my husband, the first thing I do is go be friendly with them. I'll catch 'em at the bar, or in the restroom, or whatever, and introduce myself as the band's bassist, and strike up a conversation.

Hmmm... interesting...

Then I "introduce" her to my husband. "Susan, I'd like to introduce you to my husband!"

Oh, I think i saw this movie... Bow Chicka Bow Wow...

I can't even remember the number of women I've done this way, but they always end up fans of both

Oh, this is getting good...

...and they leave my hubby alone.

Aw, rats... that's NOT what this story is about...

When I was with my ex I never had to worry about that. Most of the time she was right in front of the stage with a big gazy look in her eye, I think people got the hint.

Now she was a different story... had she seen a woman flirting with me she would have thrown a fit, oh wait, she did... and there's a good reason she's an ex.

Well I get to find out tonight. It turns out that for the first time in YEARS, my wife has decided to get a sitter and come to a gig.

Just my luck - some dude'll decide to get flirty with her and I'll discover that I'm the jealous type.

Even better, some dude'll decide to flirt with her and she'll get a much needed ego boost. I tell her she's gorgeous all the time but I am beginning to think she doesn't believe me... I hope she has all sorts of play tonight! I know we're good and there's nothing to worry about so I really do hope she gets hit on a lot!

Is that what passes for humor down there in Bozeman? I would have thought the influx of college students would have raised the quotient by now.
Geez greenboy you must be from Missoula.:p Maybe my humor isn't for everyone I am sorry that went right over your head. The OP is the one with the problem if he is jealous, obviously he is worried she will be out whoring around on him. So leave her at home.

SOLUTION:

My girlfriend plays guitar in my band. We are always near each other, and most guys at our shows are smaller than me. Her sister is the singer in my band, so I feel like I am protecting both of them from the wolf pack at our shows. They are getting more used to shows though, and are able to negotiate situations without me...:bassist:

My wife gets hit on all the time- at work (she's a waitress), at my gigs, at home...;)...

She can take care of herself, and I know she'd never let it go too far. There IS the free drinks aspect of things, which she is free to take advantage of (lowers my bar tab), and she's been known to take an aggressive flirter to his knees in front of people! Really embarrasses the poor bastard- after he regains his ability to breathe, he usually leaves with his tail between his legs...figuratively speaking of course...

A lot of guys will crack onto a girl if they think is single, but after a while if they've realised the mistake they'll usually be pretty embarassed and quite apologetic.

For example, my girlfriend and I went out with a couple friends for this big party tour thing, it's the kinda thing singles can hook up at. We were all quite drunk and at the third (I think LOL) club and a guy started talking to her. They were chatting for a long time and he bought her a drink or two. After about 45 mins I got her a drink, came back and gave it to her. He says to me "why are you buying her drinks?" thinking I'm trying to make a move too and I just replied calmly "because she's my girlfriend".

The guy took a step back, downed his drink in one go, turned to his mates and left. I almost wanted to call him back and tell him it's nothing to worry about.
