GK Combo Shootout...MB210 vs. MB212

So I got another 3 hours playing time on the 210 yesterday and I now have a permanent smile on my face. I still havent gone past volume at 12:00, boost at 3:00, and gain past 12:00.

I found some good settings where the amp settings are my "acoustic" tone, which is a little softer, and then I took an hour to dial in my sansamp and volume match every channel along with the amps volume. So I have my acoustic sound which is when the sansamp is bypassed, then the sansamp has the clean tube sound, the svt sound with a little extra dirt, and then a distorted bass.

Current settings are treble at 11, bass at 10-11, high mid at 2, and low mid at 1. Contour off and horn off.

Sansamp, tuner pedal, bass, and this amp are all I need. I think due to the lightweight, I can unload my car with one trip.

As for the DI comment, if someones using the DI a lot, another option is not to buy a cable like suggested, but you could always buy an adapter and keep the adapter plugged into your amp. That way instead of a 1 foot cable hanging from your amp, its just a 1 inch adapter.

But since the DI on the MB's are pre eq, im just running the DI from my sansamp.

My212MB finally showed up yesterday. Looked good. Nice and light. Had to wait till this morning to fire it up. This amp for me was sort of like Santa Clause. You want to believe but in your heart you know he is not real. Still you wait up to see if he shows up. Today I am like a kid on Xmas morning! This thing is amazing. Super mids! Very responsive to touch and tone. I think I will actually like it more when the natural lows break in. Reminds me of older GK tone. Not as dark as my 1001RBll.This is just in my livingroom of course but I have no doubt it will keep up in my live situations. Breaking it in with an MP3 player for the day. Thank you GK for making these great products.

You see, Santa Clause does exist after all! :hiding:

I knew you would be thrilled! I'm happy for ya

The 1st time I used mine(MB210) was a couple weeks ago at practice. I had the master at 2 and the gain around 12. Played for about 4 hours or so with no issues. I use it here at home at lower volumes but probably 5-6 hours a week. I ordered the 2x10 cab for it but it's not due to come out til June 24. I'm curious how it will sound with the extra cab. If it continues working like it is now I'll be happy.

I would love to use it as a tuner out but it kills the main speakers on mine.

Now that's a good feature.

You know how many times I pissed my wife off by playing with the headphones plugged into my Bassman before I realized I needed to disconnect the speaker?

I'm playing away thinking I'm the good guy by not disturbing anyone, meanwhile she's turning up the TV to drown me out.
