Sitting on his "shelves" right now is not only an MB800, but a genuine Made in the USA MB200! He has been going through MB200's like crazy, and he didn't even notice that this one was a Made in the USA model. Being a major gear freak and general snoop, I had to check.![]()
Would be good to find out from GK (assuming they would say)
Since the gain is the only volume control, I'd expect to hear some hiss above 12:0...
In terms of hiss, it makes sense that you'd here more when you turned up treble and upper mids but what level is the gain set at? Since the gain is the only volume control, I'd expect to hear some hiss above 12:0 and even more if as you increase treble and upper mids.
For recording, you can take both pre and post eq from the DI jack. I'd try plugging it into a speaker as well.
The hiss is audible even with gain at 0...just gets worse as knobs are turned up. It's just like the fella here that posted his on YouTube... (drpepper was that you?)
These gotta rank up there as one of the best "grab and go" or "point and shoot" heads ever. I just love mine for what it is.

+1+1 I go back to my first thoughts after picking one up, which was that every bass player should get one of these.![]()
Just curious, was it screened on the chassis or just a sticker (over the previous screen?)
