GK Neo IV cabs

Hello!

I've got a few questions about the new 212 hopefully someone can answer.

1. What is the frequency response of just the woofers (tweeter turned off)?

2. I'm running a 100 watt all tube head (YBA100) is this enough power for one of the 212 cabs?

3. Where are these cabs made?

Thanks!

I somewhat agree! Could be a good thing though, people are too busy playing and enjoying them ;)

RAG - any news on when they might land in Australia?

Also has GK ever thought about a 610 neo cab? There’s a bit of a hole in the market (in my opinion)

I too would be interested in a 210 to pair with my GK MB210 Ultralight combo. I love the combo because it packs it all and a punch but is also very light and easy to lift and tote around. Having a matching equally as night in size and weight would be great. I'd maybe start thinking about selling my 410 at that point. I've become a big fan of GK's stuff myself.

Thanks for the help. I just ordered the Legacy 800, NeoIV-210 & NeoIV-115 from Sweetwater. Can't wait to plug in and turn it up.
If you could, please try each cab individually and make some comments because there's a whole thread comparing the Mesa Subway to the NEO IV 115 and nobody has been able to provide a review yet of the GK.

I love that they make a 8 ohm 2x12 that was one thing stopping me from getting the mesa subway 2x12

It needn't have stopped you from using a mesa head as they are 2 ohm capable...

The GK heads are excellent tho; and I've been using the MBFusion line for years now.

You need a Neutrik Speakon two conductor cable. The old connectors we used were four conductor cables to work with the RHH and earlier Neo cabinets.

This happened to me, as well. "Wait, what? The Speakon cable I use in my older MBF800 doesn't work in my new GK amp?"

Apparently, 2 works in 4, but 4 not in 2. I didn't even know there were incompatible Speakon cable types, and neither did 2/3 Sweetwater people with whom I spoke. It's expensive to replace Speakon cables, and it's very confusing to order them on Amazon etc.; add that they are not a "next day" arrival by any means. So I've had a brand new GK amp for 4 days now, and I can't even try the darn thing.

I'm confident the amp is great. But, really, this is an epic fail as far as first impressions go. Way more communication about this issue, i.e. warning, should be emphasized in the product description. I considered shipping it back and wiping my hands of it altogether, as I already have multiple amps that happily use my Speakon cables. But my affinity for GK has thus far prevailed.

What amp did you get? I have the Fusion S 800 and found out the the hard way that NL4 will not work. They are "keyed" differently.

I've seen a few guys posting pics of them in their rigs on facebook and I asked them about them and got no response so far sadly but they are out in the wild

It seems like it's hard to get info on new cabs in general. I was waiting for the GK reviews as well but ended up getting the new Darkglass 2x12 only because someone nearby was selling one at a good price. But even there, I could hardly find any reviews on the new DG cabs either!
