GK rails in a pedal?

The reason why there are two versions for the boost circuit, is because we were trying to see if the boost was a major part of the "rails" tone. Version 1 of the boost can be completely bypassed, where version 2 of the boost is how the original 800RB is using the circuit. In the original 800RB, the boost is always 'in-circuit' and just switches between a set level to the adjustable level.

Hey Frank and John, thank you guys for this amazing thread and pedal!

Just a quick question, is the pedal inverting the input polarity? I'm a little lost in the signal path :) I'm asking because If the sound guy ever wants anything Pre Fx and blend it with post FX signal, I'd better have a non inverting pedal.

Thanks!

BUmP!

Was the polarity question above ever addressed in PM or elsewhere?

There are a couple of answers depending on version of boost circuit used:

With version 1 of the boost circuit.
Boost circuit deactivated = non-inverted output
Boost circuit activated = inverted output

With version 2 of the boost circuit.
Boost circuit active or deactivated = inverted output

what's that about inverted output? IDK much about that...

I'm currently not using Dom pedal.

I picked it up mainly for headphone based rehearsals and currently I'm not rehearsing like that at this time if anyone is interested.

I keep feeling like I should buy one of these pedals but I just don't know what I'd use it for. I have 2 800rbs in my live rack, I rehearse with a 400rb and I have a spare 800rb. Btw, I have always read that 400s aren't very loud. Well, I have an '83, play into a 2x15 with EVs, I crank the master and barely open the vol knob it it is loud as hell in my metal/hard rock band with a very hard hitting drummer.
