I had to put a 0.5 degree (I had %, my bad,,edited) shim in my fretless. Raised the saddles to an appropriate level.Yes.
The neck relief was actually 95% correct from the factory.
Right out of the box, the intonation was set correctly, but the action was, to me, much too high.
After adjusting the action, I of course touched up the intonation.
I lowered the action a ship ton from the factory:

That would be to the liking of most bass players I do setups for.
But:

That only leaves us 1mm of adjustment.
So, in my professional opinion, I'd want to shim the neck to give a little more breathing room.
