Glarry 5-String Bass - Unboxing, Setup, Review

That does not look that bad.
I got the same bass a few weeks back to rehearse with. It's a keeper.

i think i got lucky
the cats in the glarry club have been very lucky! ;)

I like the weight (although I wonder if neck dive would be an issue).
i modded one: had to go with extra-lightweight machines to neutralize dive --- it worked, it ended up 6.2 lbs., legit. but it was at a cost...they are so lightweight = it could be a problem  !

I wanna know what's up with the "rich gift package"
in my case it was free bacon for a year. :D

CNC is available to everybody

Nice set of pictures but can it be set-up properly? Are the frets level? Can the action go down? Is the bridge within intonation range?

And how thick is that neck? Cheap instruments come with thicker necks for stability.

Bicycle guys love to argue over what is the best, most waterproof grease.

Go to your local Autozone, Oriley, Pepboys or whatever, and get a 14oz tube of "Marine Grease" for $5

The stuff is thick, never dries out, is happy shade of aqua-blue, safe for plastics, does not creep or drip. Don't put it on wood, just metal to metal gears.

A 14oz "grease gun" tube is a lifetime supply for guitars and bikes.

Looks like a smarter solution than replacing them. How do you open the things?

Crazy glue a roofing nail to the back of each one.

When the glue dries, pull the back straight off.

Release Crazyglue with Acetone (nail polish remover)

If gears are coated in cheap grease that has hardened, drop gears and screws into jar of Mineral Spirits (Paint Thinner). Just barely cover the gears with the Spirits, and let it do the work.

I can't see the connections because wires are hiding them but it seems to me that both tone pots are connected together and to the top of the volume pots (in this case, their output). It makes no sense without a pick-up selector switch. Tone pots should be connected to the middle lug of each volume pot (pick-up output) for separated function.
