Going for walks, seeing some cool cars.

I bike past this car in my neighborhood on the way to and from work. Usually, it's covered with a tarp, but recently the owner uncovered it. So I took a photo -
This is a Citroen 2CV. Not very common in the US, though not the first one I've seen here either.

2CVs are very cool, there are a handful in my area, but rare to see them. If we ever have room for another classic that's next on our list.
In the meantime, this is my daily driver in the summer:
I can just barely get my small bass cab behind the seats and the bass in the passenger seat.

I thought those were the bee's knees back in the day. Isn't there room for a cab or a bass in the trunk (or "boot")?
I could definitely get the cab in the boot if i removed the spare tire, it's a pretty deep well in there. I have squeezed a bass in there with a thin gig bag, but it's not wide enough to fit my soft-side case. It would definitely work with a short scale.
I'd done many Costco runs with that car, i can get 3 grocery bags behind the seats and quite a bit in the trunk, even with the spare in place. It's fun to load up as much as stuff someone driving a giant suburban or escalade typically does when they ask how i can drive such a small car.
I would definitely counter with "how can you drive such an unwieldy monstrosity?"

My dad had the Oldsmobile version (98 regency, IIRC) of that model, his was a '77. It was a really good car, especially after the POS that was his previous car, a '73 98. Night and day difference.

The '73 looked cool, but it was truly gutless and the vinyl seats were awful and felt cheap.
OTOH when my dad got the car my brother and I both climbed into the trunk, and there was easily room for 2 more bodies in there. Useful in some situations...

Back when I lived in Seattle I did a lot of bicycle commuting from the burbs to downtown Seattle. During nice weather, I was shocked, on my way home, how many open garage doors revealed classic cars in various stages of repair/completion. There are a LOT of classics out there.
Saw this odd rear engine Renault at a vintage car show today.
Plus a few others…. Always fun seeing European oddballs here.

I was out driving yesterday and apparently a Jaguar club was out on our mountain road. Saw several immaculate XKE's (hard top and roadster) and XK's. Lovely. I was driving, though, and couldn't get any pics. I know, no pics, no event...

I got a nice one yesterday. A 1978 Malibu. Personally, the rims are just a bit too large. I prefer more tire under the wheel wells, but it looks sweet nevertheless.

Yes, I agree with you, Hot Rats.
I don't like those newer wheels, which have little sidewall on the tire.
It looks weird (to me) and I bet it hampers handling.

I've always loved the retro-futuristic style of this Citroen model from the early '70s.
