Good, Long lasting Strings?

DR Black Beauties. I can get 2 months out of these things. A non-coated string will barely last a week with my sweaty paws.

I'd go with Chromes for longlasting and good sounding in rock/metal. Very bright flats, sound great to me.

Three years on my TI Flats and counting. Just did recording using my 55-94 with these strings and it blew away the other bass being used, a an SR4 with rounds.

They're amazing, aren't they?!

+1 on the black beauties.
$40, but will last a couple months.
I play Drop C in a hardcore band, and the 105's sound good and last long. My E string broke at the bridge with them though, very strange...

+ 1 on the DR Black beauties, sound great! and will last longer then most. BUT. Chromes are awesome, I have them on 2 of my bass's and love em, really sound good playing HIM or Tool. And the longer theyer on the better they sound.
Just my 2 cents worth.

i use d'addario xls they last me around 3 months or so

DR Sunbeam rounds are great ... as are D Addario XL Chrome flats. Both are on the high side price wise though.

I'm gonna try some of the sets from these guys next time I buy though, been hearing good things about them!

D'Addario Strings are not expensive. I'd sooner go with tried and true, myself.

I've even found them cheaper than that! You have to shop a bit.

If you are concerned about money, try flatwounds. You may never need to replace them.

I think roundwounds are too bright anyway.
