Hey guys - So... A little preface... Music Industry Major here who focused on Electric Bass Performance and Recording. My Advisor/Mentor/Instructor threw a lot of Schubert and Bach at me amongst others. I came into the program unable to read music and left much more proficient in the practice. That said - So.. it's a couple years later and my girlfriend (who reads a little music) wants to learn how to play bass, and I figure it could be a good exercise for both of us to pick up on some of these exercises.
I've rediscovered my love of IMSLP.ORG, mostly looking to find some nice cello lines for us to work on. For the most part - I've been pretty successful. Although, the shear amount of material on the site is proving a lot to sift through.
Here is my concern: What I've found and downloaded is probably a little over my girlfriends head - as I really don't want to scare her off the practice. Does anyone have any pieces, favorites, recommendations form when they were just starting out?
