Good Ol' Big Muff

HI GUYS!
okay, let me get your opinions and advice on something!
Like BIG MUFF! I want to buy a distortion pedal, i heard lot about BM on bass, but there are few of them, every one says that russian is best option, but im not quite sure so thats why im here.

which distortion you would rcomend me to get, ? i checked little big muff and to me it sounds great altho im in uk there are no russian muffs in the shops so i cant really check if they are better for bass that little big muff.
which one you would recomend me to get, i also have sans amp bass drive, the distortion is good but i want something separate.

I am really enjoying the NYC Big Muff, the full sized one. I did not try to LBM, because the NYC one was used and pretty cheap.

I dont really feel that there is much low end loss, as I use a JAzz bass with mostly bridge pickup, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I was quite surprised how balanced the results were between the NYC, Russian, and LBM pedals. The bottom line is that the Muff pedals do work very well with bass (although many have said that the LBM holds the bottom end better than the NYC), and are very popular.

Some people (myself included) have found that the slight mod-scoop profile of the Muff sound has a tendancy to disappear into a full band mix. I love the smooth fuzz of the LBM, but for playing with my band, I've had to go a different route.

See if you can get a Little Big Muff - not only is it a bit cheaper, but it's worth every penny, takes up less space, and is easier to power.

EricF does bring up a good point about the mid scoop, but in the right setting, it works beautifully. If it doesn't work for your or your band, there are plenty of other non-Muff fuzz pedals to check out, too.
