Good Punk Bass?

You're probably meaning punk in a different context but I remember 'real punk' 76/77 ......I had one of those crappy plywood short scale basses ( that people now pay stupid money on ebay for)
As i recall, probably swapped it with a mate for something ...worth about four quid ( £4 )

Although the textbook answer would be P bass, I play in a punk band and most of the bands we play with, even big name acts, I see using a Squier Jazz. I was using a Schecter C-4XXX myself, but have since moved up to a Spector Forte 4 with Jazz pickups. Not because I think that's needed for punk rock, just because I can. And damn that thing rocks, the growl in the E string is so grindy I don't even need an overdrive for the grit. But I do use an over drive of course, and it is sick.
