Got SRX?

Welcome you two. I'd love to comment on your guys bass.. :hmm: but theres no pics?
So how about some eye candy for us SRX lovers and post a pic. :eyebrow:

I thought I had posted a pick before but I guess not. I have a pic of the white one but I'm gonna wait till the Black one arrives. I will post a pic of both of them together like twins in a crib. Haha:D

No need for a number, but I just got an SRX500. Liking it so far, but I have a question. From the neck side to the bridge side, the knobs are volume, pickup blend, bass (boost only), and treble which is a standard boost/cut?

Sort of. The Bass and the Treble are a boost/cut. You should be able to feel a center bump when you turn the knobs. That "bump" is your "flat" setting.

Knobs, what knobs? :D

Just found this thread! :hyper:

I've had my SRX3EXQM1 for a few years now, but never really played it too much because I had a SR405QM used in my cover band. Now that I'm doing straight up drop-c modern rock originals, I put some D'addario ECB-82's (105-50) and let 'er rip!

I'm using a Behringer Bass V-amp Pro and Peavey IPR-1600 going to two Hartke 410TPs.

Beautiful bass :bassist:

The only thing I'm NOT liking right now is that I have some "dead spots" on the low-c string. I sorta noticed this when I was in standard tuning, but not as much as when I'm a full step down. I've had to adjust the pick-ups, saddles, eq, etc several times, and can’t seem to get it right. My SR370M seems to sound better/more even than the SRX :hmm:

I brought it to a local CT restoration shop for a setup, hopefully I'll get 'er back next week and all will be well.

This was an older setup of mine...

Well guys, I can't believe what I'm fixing to say. I bought a Fender Aerodyne Jazz bass. I set it up since it came poorly setup (I've set several up). Today was the first time I took it to rehearsal. I can't get a low action like my SRX's without the thing buzzing all over the place. But I brought it to rehearsal anyway with a high action. I was expecting it to sound better than what it did. For 500.00 dollars less my SRX's sound and play better than this piece of junk. I shouldn't have to get a fret job done on a brand new bass! Specially one that cost 3 times what my SRX cost. If I would've played the dang thing before replacing the pickups I would be shipping it back tomorrow. The bass is one day old and the jack came loose at rehearsal today as well. Easy fix, but its still aggravating. The old saying "you get what you pay for" isn't always the truth, thats for sure! Ibanez is highly underated in my opinion due to too many gear snobs!

Would like to join the club. I've two basses to show, an SRX470 in metallic black (chinese assembled) and an SRX695DX. The craftmanship on the SRX695 is far superior and a dream to play.

I would like to join the club. Got my SRX755 a few months back at local shop that was doing a closing down sale. It used to be behind the "SALIVA BARRIER" display case before everything got piled out and the place just went total garage sale. Was actually eyeing the sting ray or fortress but this was way more sexier. Had a good growl to it too.

Was playing a fender jazz for a number of years, and it was a very versatile bass but didnt have that aggressive tone needed for the current stuff my bands working on. Frankly been in and out the studio for a couple of months now and still not really nailed that tone in my head though. I do believe this is the ideal bass for what im doing atm, but the missing strong smooth mids which ive become so accustomed to from the jazz makes everything sound a little hollow. Not really happy with the preamp so im seriously contemplating whether to put barts or aggie 3 band preamp. Its loud enough, but i just cant live without that mid control. Fiddling with the amp eq just makes it honk. Anyways, really glad to be here. :hyper:
