GR AT Cube 800...damn, this looks like something special!

Is that something you can custom order from GR? I’d be interested in having one with their Pure Amp built-in.

Yes, these were custom made, ordered thru the USA distributor Sonata Marketing.

Mine have the One800 amps built in, which has a ‘Pure’ switch that bypasses all the tone controls. I use the Pure setting almost all the time, but it’s nice to have the tone controls just in case.

The combos sound much warmer than my Quilter BB800/older GR Bass Aerotech 212 Slim cabinet rig.

I've looked at the 350 Pure Amp before. It has two features that no other power amp has that I've seen - a DI out, and a 5V output for up to 5 pedals.

How do you buy new GR Bass gear? Sonata Marketing only has one piece shown, and none of the rest of the GR line. All the dealers' sites GR Bass listed on their site, that I've visited, don't show any GR gear.

Does everything have to be custom-ordered through Sonata? I will contact them and inquire.

That was my bad. I rechecked the site, and those Pure Amps have a 9V, 300 mA output.

The Club Bass & Guitar site that gtirard gave links to shows the Pure Amp 800 for $900, but it's out of stock. The 350 might be then be around $650, assuming it eventually goes back into production.

Although not the 800, I posted gut pics of the One Mini, maybe tells you something about quality ? I have no knowledge about this stuff whatsoever but I would like to hear opinions!

The 'One Mini' is the 'One 350' with less features (GR Bass rates it at 350 W RMS 4 ohm, 170 W RMS 8 ohm)

There are a few other alternatives: Guitar Sound System Sumo range, Demeter Minnie 800D, Jad Freer Coda...

Actually I spent much of last night looking into pedalboard amps, and the Sumo looks really good. The Quilter BB 800 as well.

Yes, I didn't include the Quilter in my list because it's an amp, not just a power amp, but I have it and I use it sometimes as a power amp (= after an external preamp). I either plug an external preamp into the "line in" of the Quilter in order to bypass its preamp, or into the regular input with the EQ flat. Both work great.

Although the Pure Amps do have the extra features that the GSS, Demeter, and others do not have. There is no DI out on any of the other small standalone mono amps, as far as I know, as well as no 9V outlets. I think all of them have a single gain control. The separate gain and master volume on the Pure Amp would allow you to plug most, if not all, basses directly into the input with no separate preamp needed.

If the Pure Amp 350 were available, I would pick one up, since I have a pretty decent collection of tone-shaping and other pedals that could be used in front of it.
