Funny enough, we call a meterstick a "Zollstock" ("inch stick") in Germany, even though it does not measure in inches.

Since Imperial units are generally* defined by their relationship to standard Metric equivalents, Americans have effectively been using Metric for almost a century anyway. We've just been doing it in the most inefficient, awkward way possible.
*(Nautical units, surveying units, and some other measures might be exempt from this generalization, depending on which regulatory body you're dealing with.)

FWIW, GR is based in my hometown in Italy. The owner is really passionate about his stuff, he is a bass player himself. The amps... they're not my cup of tea (clean, "linear", I prefer more colour) but they are undoubtedly very high quality. Apparently the DI is top notch (I haven't tried it), as is the EQ section. I don't care for the LED KITT car thingy, to me it's garish and a bit "cheap", but luckily you can turn it off or just use it as a tuner. I think they employ custom SICA speakers (I'm not sure about this), and the cabinets cost a bomb because they're in carbon fiber or whatever it's called. They are all made locally to specifications, so that also adds to the cost. They do sound very clear and they're very good pedal platforms as you have lots of control and articulation (the speakers are well designed), but at the same time if you're looking for warmer, woolier, more vintage-y sounds you might want to stick some sort of preamp in front of it. I think these combos (or head+cab systems, for that matter) are extremely good for the gigging musician due to the extremely low weight for the power (one might question the utility of putting so much power into one single speaker, but that applies to all combos anyway). There are lower powered versions anyway.

I really don't understand this metric / imperial system debate.

I've looked at the 350 Pure Amp before. It has two features that no other power amp has that I've seen - a DI out, and a 9V output for up to 5 pedals.

Edit: Went back to the GR page and it is indeed, a 9 volt output, at 300 mA.

There is no debate as far as I'm concerned. I don't think anyone here is springing to the defense of our silly anachronism. Mark me down as chagrined.
Is that something you can custom order from GR? I’d be interested in having one with their Pure Amp built-in.

Maybe, but relative to a new top line $1,000 or so integrated head @ 800 watts, and $1,000 for 1-12 cab… and weighing in at about 17 lbs???
The only thing negative I see here is the strap location and cab size makes it a knee knocker. I’ve been spoiled by the side handles and their location on my Eden cabs…. @ 3 times the weight LOL!!!

‘Me too. for a ball park conversion, try multiplying metric by .6 , For instance. 100 kilometers an hour = 60 mph.
Anybody have the “Stones” conversion?
I haven't heard the amp in person yet, only on the video. Separates are, as a rule, pricier than combos. So, I'd restrict comparisons to other combos. That said, on paper I see the MarkBass MB58R MINI CMD121 PURE as direct competition and at $999, a greater value. But I haven't heard either in person.
I'd like to hear a side by side shootout.
