Hello,
I think it’s right to reply to this post to explain why we changed our distribution in the United States.
In the last year we have grown a lot, especially in the American territory and with the old distribution we could not cover all the requests.
We often received emails of complaints because the products were not found.
This was because there was a great demand and little availability of products from the old distributor.
In agreement with Sonatamarketing we decided to collaborate directly with American stores.
This allows us to be faster in deliveries, much more present in the territory with our products and allows us to keep a lower MAP, a very important thing for the client.
We receive emails daily on [email protected] to know where to find our products and every time we find a store that can help the customer.
If you have stores that you would like to collaborate with us, please let us know on [email protected], we will contact them and help us grow in the American territory.

Like many folks, they are confused about distribution in the US. Does anyone know the story behind the change away from John at Sonata Marketing? The GR folks pointed me to John Fox who has been quite pleasant and helpful in communication. I'm just curious about the changes and wonder if they will seek wider distribution in the US once supply issues have fully subsided.

I'm super happy to hear you like the cabs. My interest is still high and I'd love to hear your continued experiences with the cabs. That's quite a killer stack! Are you confident of stability?

Thanks for checking in but the problem has not be finding dealers for your product.
The problem is that there is nearly zero inventory in the US.
We understand shipping, material shortages, etc. but other European manufacturers actually have products in the stores here.
Until you guys start putting products on shelves in the US, GR will continue to be a novelty brand.
I bought my AT112 used and would like to buy another without waiting months.

Even though I continue to drool over the latest and greatest bass gear, I have been totally satisfied with my little Acoustic Image 2-channel Focus amp. Having used it for a few decades, I will no longer consider an amp that isn't 2-Ohm capable and doesn't have a built-in variable high-pass filter. And even though I never used to use the built-in effects except when I was using one channel for a vocalist's microphone, I now find myself using the built-in delay with fretless basses. Color me satisfied. :)

You’re right, since we finished the contract with Sonatamarketing we are working day and night to get to as many shops as possible, it is not easy, but the results there are.
We have been doing this since February, so it takes time and perseverance.
The more users ask for GR in stores, the easier it will be for us to be present in stores.

I'm curious why the AT212 Slim is available in 700 watt regular and 900 watt Plus models while the AT212 is only available in the 700 watt model. Is the larger cabinet volume and possibly different tuning of the AT212 incompatible with the beefier driver?
Also, is the efficiency and voicing of the 350 and 450 watt 12" drivers similar?

I don't generally go for rear ported cabs but the AT212 slim seems to have a bit tighter low end than the AT212 in this GRBass video. I like it.

Sorry sir but perhaps there is some confusion in translation.
I know of 3 or 4 real US suppliers yet none of them have inventory or have delivery dates.
You list 13 distributors on your website not including Sonata Marketing so it sounds like some sort of network has been established. Could it be they don't wish to stock inventory?

Maybe a better question is what is the buy in amount to become a distributor and when could the top 3 selling cabinets arrive in the US with quantities 2 ea.?
I think my big local brick and mortar store would be interested if the buy in wasn't too high. They've been around since 1958 and aren't afraid to expand with high end equipment.

This distribution issue is probably very complex. I'm super happy that I could finally get my dream cab (Natural Fiber 210V), thanks to the help of your support team who put in contact with the French distributor so I could finaly order it from Bass Maniac in Paris. Again, super happy.

While I understand you want your products to be present in physical stores, it wouldn't hurt if we could also order them online easily. Your reputation is so good that many of us (including me) would be happy to order the products online, even with the waiting list.

Yesterday I emailed GR Bass about making a Carbon fibre 10” combo for my commute on trains, etc. I will post any info received. If that’s not possible, an active AT110 cab with a preamp might be my best option.

Or you could buy a 10" cab + the Pocket amp, it is super tiny, it's battery powered with 8 hours of autonomy, it includes a DI and a audio interface, so it's the perfect swiss army knife when you travel. You'd have to choose the 4ohm version of the cab though in order to get the full 50 watts of the amp, so it's not very modular, but it's a crazy lightweight "combo", and I guess the loudness/weight ratio is excellent because GR Bass cabs are very efficient (high sensitivity = loud even with a 50 W amp)

I might buy these 2 one day…

I already have a Micromark 801 (8” 40watts 8 ohms, 60 watts 4 ohms with ext speaker) weighs 14lbs, although the 10” and pocket amp may be a little lighter and louder, the difference with the active 350 watt 10” with my Genzler Magellan preamp would be significant.

There is a 110 combo, they have one at Bass Direct UK £700....it's a wood one though.

I typically use a powered 12in pa speaker. All my electrics sound great without EQ or have on board preamps. An active 110 would be great!

I have a TC Bam but the battery powered pocket amp is intriguing.

Still though, I would love to have the microphone pres, piezo buffers, and notch filter from the acoustic combo in a stand alone head. I'll have to email them

I really enjoy the GR creativity with the new GR super light cabs…but the availability thing is part of what makes a brand a deal breaker for me. My Genzer rig is top notch but I also love the fact I can place an order for pretty much any amp or cab they make and know it will be on my door in just a few days. I like options so I hope the folks at GR can get their distribution sorted out.
