Grammy commentary

I wouldn't be surprised if Don Henley asks Jackson Browne to join The Eagles as Glenn Frey's replacement. If he doesn't The Eagles are done, and I'm sure Henley would like to keep the money train going for as long as possible.

TD

Interesting. I never even considered that before now but it totally makes sense. And they could do hits from both. That would be a pretty good concert actually. And if they were to let Joe Walsh fly off on a couple of his hits, even better.

They could play nothing but smash hits from Eagles, Brown, and Walsh all night.

Interesting indeed.

And Poco since Timothy B. Schmidt was with them for awhile.

I thought of Jackson Browne joining the Eagles after Glenn's passing since he has been so connected to them from the beginning. Jackson and Glenn co-wrote "Take It Easy". Jackson has appeared with the Eagle on stage before.

Jackson plays piano on this video.

overall, better than expected. seemed like a better balance of genres and players too. there were, sadly, a couple great bassist left out of the memoriam-Louis Johnson, and Wilton already mentioned, plus Mike Porcaro. Mike is in a grammy winning family, come on.. the mix was off a bit in a couple spots, but I had no trouble hearing everything through 5 good speakers.

It was great to see a bunch of session players on stage killing it. The 'real bands' with instruments did a good job. enjoyed the tribute to Glenn, and the BB thing w/Gary and then Bonnie who sounded very good. Gaga was very entertaining. Adele had some probs (a piano mic on a string, I hear), but the public won't care. Lionel deserved some of his older peers being up there; those youngsters just don't get it, and Luke Bryan is so overrated. The Beiber thing was a mess too. as was the hollywood vampires! I like those guys, but that was just too busy and sloppy. It was cool seeing who stood up after the 12 year jazz phenom played that steinway like chick corea.

I agree about the Hollywood Vampires. I wanted to like them, but it sounded like they hadn't even rehearsed.

The Corea chick has been playing for 12 years?

Does anyone know what was the point of all those rings on Ice Cube's son's fingers?

I'm no doctor, but I play one on Internet forums. You clearly have suffered a head injury. Go to the ER or call 911 if you're not safe to drive. Remember to turn on your lights and use your directional indicator.

Yeah I knew about Take It Easy. And good point on Poco as well.

Did anyone catch how Lady GaGa's keyboard sounded? When she went to play that weird thing she hit a chord and it was like the worst electric piano sort of sound, plunk plunk, plunk. No tone whatsoever. The sound guy heard it and muted her immediately.

Some of the acts have outlived their 15 minutes of fame.

Quite a few of the acts who won should have thanked Autotune in their speeches for making them what they are. ;)

I will keep most of my thoughts to myself since I did not enjoy many of the acts.

Here are a few of my personal favorites.

I will say the 12 year old piano player is amazing. I have watched him before.

Little Big Town delivered the goods as well as Stevie Wonder and Pentatonix. All people who can actually sing well.
