Ritters. Don't think I have seen a famous player play a Ritter besides Phil Lesh.

Also, Dingwall, Roscoe, Skold, Etc. I see very few of the boutique basses we go nuts for at $200-3000 used in the Classifieds being played by big names.

Check out Aram bedrosian on you tube he plays Ritter exclusively.

This morning I woke with the nagging question on my mind, how come I never, ever, saw a single picture of anyone famous playing a Warwick Fortress Flashback?
And then I wondered...

what other great basses is this true about?

Don't know anyone famous who plays this.
Hope to change that soon, though.

Pancho Tomaselli just recently jumped ship from E.S.P. and is currently endorsed by G&L

I haven't seen anybody "famous" use Jackson/Charvel basses in a long time. Don't ever see them for sale much anymore either

Leland Sklar plays a sig Dingwall quite a bit. Other than him, I can't think of anyone off the top of my head who plays them. They are great basses, however.

Good call. These are great. I had a fiver which I foolishly sold. Yesterday I sold one of my two four strings. Now down to only one.

Thanks, it was a most pleasant surprise plugging this one in at the store and discovering how good it sounded. Had a Thunderbird on layaway but decided to go with the Thundergun.

It is indeed Lou Reed, when he was at Syracuse. Certain details in the photograph suggest the bass player could be Gene Simmons' older brother, and that neither Reed nor the brother had any great love for the standard strap position.
