Good luck on finding one!
For some reason, hard to get inventory seems to pop up in weird places at times. The Geddy Lee USA showed up at Guitar Center/Musician's Friend as in stock, despite being back ordered absolutely everywhere. They even showed two in stock when I ordered.
The Geddy is a lot of fun so far. Weirdly, my A-string went dead. The instrument is factory fresh and the strings as shiny and new as could be. But it just went absolutely thump-dead from the 10th fret on up. Also weird, in spite of the factory sheet saying it has 7250ML on it, (45 - 100) the A-string turned out to 085 instead of 080. Maybe they're short on strings and that's why they're back ordered?
When I got the A-string off, it was stiff as can be about halfway up from the bridge. Never seen that before. The other ones are perfectly fine, very bright and sustain for days.
Replaced the whole set with Rotosound 66 LD (45-105). Never really used them before, but now I totally sound like Geddy Lee! (just kidding).
Was surprised they're actually a bit warmer than the Fender strings that came with it. I would have thought stainless would be brighter.
Not sure I like them. Nickel wound or plated are my usual choice, nickel feels a little smoother to my fingers than stainless. I'll probably go back to my usual 45-100 nickel or plated at some point.
