Sinclair-Wilson played the bass (and keyboards) on Akimbo Alogo and Shaking Like A Human Being. Fredette was around then too but mainly singing and playing additional keys and guitar. Rockland was the first album he played the bass guitar.

Yep, Myles is great too. My favourite line of his is "Rascal Houdi" fromMillion Vacations .

Rob Wright was mentioned too, a very good player with a great sound. He took that J.J.Burnell Precision-pick-distortion thing a bit further.

Has anyone here yet mentioned Rishi Dhir of The High Dials? Not a hugely well known band (or bassist) yet, but their two albums have really made the indiepop circles, and Rishi's Ric playing is utterly top notch, quick, melodic, and tuneful. If The High Dials were a bigger act by now, I'd swear Rishi would be getting serious public props.

You are correct, sir. Either my old vinyl credited improperly, or my aged memory is failing.

That said...It's good that there has been a CD reissue of the first solo EP, so that I might be able to back up my other comments.

That is the best Kim Mitchell release, at least to me. The releases after that have their moments but get too close to AOR to my liking. I prefer the Max Webster stuff.

Has Jim Chrichton of Saga been mentioned? He has some interesting lines on their early albums 'though he spent half the time playing Moog bass.
Another progrock player who switches between keys and bass is Cameron Hawkins of FM. He had a great chrunchy sound on FM's live reunion album "Retroactive". He used to play a 4001 but had a Gibson Triumph on that one.

Stop mentioning Geddy! We all know he's Canadian and we all know he's good!

No, I'm kidding, I just don't really like Rush, mention him all you like though.

I was shocked that Jim Creegan of the Barenaked Ladies and Rick Danko of the Band weren't brought up more. Rick was one of the top five bassists of the sixties, easily.

Glueleg? I think the bassist name(When I saw them summer of '94) was Carlos. They did a nice version of Red by King Crimson.

Bass player from Bootsauce I recall being polished.
Bass player from Spirit of the West.
Rusty the stand-up bassist in the Corb Lund Band.
