Melonthief. Personal attacks are generally frowned upon. I actually think you did a good job walking away....but hey, no big deal.
I'd rather discuss why Dick Lovgren isn't on the list.
If memory serves, in addition to his bass playing Webster does a ton of writing in Corpse, so the placement may be recognising that. Plus he simply gains esteem for being a fingerstyle death metal player with a style unique from most of the tech-death crowd. I don't know many other players who use fingerstyle on fretted basses, as opposed to the fretless players like Steve DiGiorgio use.
So who is the best bassist for metal?
Probably the bassist that sounds the most like he's playing guitar.
