Green Bay game

My only thought is...if Favre does retire, this is going to be one long decade of "wait 'til next year!"

As bad as Favre plays sometimes (mostly, I think because he's trying to win the game by himself, because he knows no one else is trying), without Favre, the Pack is going to go into a DEEP slumber.

I hate to say it- so I'll just go into denial world and say "Wow Craig Nall is the future of the club!"

Yeah, Craig Nall or (insert any other replacement's name here) will make us forget all about our Hall of Fame, three time MVP, Super Bowl winning, NFL record breaking star, won't they?

Regardless of a team’s talent level or previous success, teams and players in RAY RHODES NFL 2000 will experience significant drop-off in performance.

Of all the things that made me laugh, the above statement stood out to me. Thta is very true if you look at his track record. He'll show up somewhere, dig a defense out of the cellar, then they slowly slide back down.

With that in mind, I think there were several key injuries to the Seattle D this year that prevented him from making full use of his schemes. He'll probably have one more year to prove his worth up here.

Jive1, you will always be a FIB to me. ;)
BTW, what the hell was Favre thinking with that flip when he was past the line of scrimmage. This wasnt the first half of some meaningless game, this was the second half of a playoff game where the team was down by 14 points! He could have dove and been close to the first down. This is what tells me Favre might be at the end. He wasnt willing to give up his body for the yardage needed.

Why isnt more being made of this?

I don't think he thought he would have been close enough to dive for the first down, which is why he flicked it in the end zone, trying for the TD. I don't think he thought he was that far over the line (he's done this before).

Favre not willing to risk something? I don't think so. Typical of the year in so far as people talking about one play or another. They had so many other opportunites that were squandered, in this game and the whole season.

What if they went 8-0 at home? 4 homes games lost. They would have been 14-2 and had a bye. What if, what if?

Yay, the Vikings beat the Pack. That means my Rams get to play Atlanta next weekend, instead of Philly.

:hyper:

Another Rams fan in here. Glad to know your here.

As long as we can contain Vick we got em.

The O-line is playing good, finally! and the D-is holding up. Lets just hope they can keep the momentum going.

I would much rather have Atlanta over Philly.

I agree. I love Farvre and would select as my QB over anyone.

The guy plays with the heart of ten men.

When Farve has a bad game it's usually really bad but that's pretty rare, last really bad one I remember was against my Rams. As much as I wanted the Rams to win I hate seeing Farve get waxed like that. He extracted a little payback this year with that 41-17 butt-kicking they gave the Rams this year.

I hope he doesn't retire until he goes out a winner. That doesn't mean a superbowl, I just don't want him to hang it up with that loss being his last game.

All football fans, not just Greenbay fans will surely miss him if he hangs it up.

yeah, that was in the end zone right near my seats! that was favre thinking too much about the game...just like everyone of his interceptions. he just gets too excited sometimes, and lofts the ball ten yards over his reciever's head. he just needs to calm down, and he'd be back to his old self again...i guess favre was even thinking about retirement and everything, but i don't think he should yet...keep in mind...he still threw for over 4,000 yards this season! its thefense that screws the packers out of any chance at the super bowl...our offense (favre included) i still think is one of the top offenses in the NFC, but it would help if we didn't have a defense that played at a high school level!

Joe Buck can bite it, I thought it was friggin hilarious. The fans of Green Bay have been taunting Moss all week (granted, walking off the field was no bueno), why not some payback?
Exactly!
And for those of you that are so offended at Randy's "classless act", get over yourselves puh-leeeze. It's been an "inside/tradition" thing for years that the Green Bay fans Moon the opposing team"s bus. Paybacks a b*tch.

I don't care how much these guys make..it's still a game..entertainment. It's not high art, national policy, life or death. Get over it. I hate Owens (because he doesn't play for my Vikes :p ), but him being fined by the No Fun League for end-zone celebrations is ridiculous (Geeez, let's not hurt any of these big, burly men's feelings  ).

Oh, the hair thing:
I thought Randy's hair made him look like a big toilet brush. :D

One of the sports talk radio hosts here in Atlanta made a pretty good point: Joe Buck got his panties in a wad about Randy Moss' end zone antics, and yet Buck does these Budweiser commercials where he hams it up with "Leon", a fictional wide receiver with an ego ten times the size of Moss'. So, Buck apparently has no problem cashing checks from Budweiser for doing commercials with a Moss-like character, but then he gets all self-righteous on Sunday. Puh-leeze..

There are class acts in the NFL, Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, LaDanian Tomlinson, Duce McAlister, etc. Why can't we enjoy their abilities, and not the antics of childish clowns like Moss??? :scowl:

You left out Curtis Martin, one of the classiest players in the league.

I don't really condone what Moss did in Greenbay either. I did think it was a little on the funny side, but still uncalled for and very unprofessional. Randy IMO is nothing but an arrogent, obnoxious, thug. Now compare him to a player like Barry Sanders, not once in Barry's career did he so much as even spike the football. His belief was, "I'm just doing my job"

I found this article and thought it was interesting.

Randy Moss

What I can't believe is the guy makes $5 million a year and they will only fine him $5000. Thats like $5 to an everyday Joe.

If the NFL were truly against what some of these players are doing and wanted to put an end to it, they would levy fine of 2 or 3 game checks. (Go 2-4 games without getting a check and see if they still carry on with the classless acts.) I'm also for huge unpaid suspentions for continued acts of classlessness. If the NFL were a legitimate business they would fire players for drug use, obscene gestures to clients (in this case the clients are the paying fans) just like any other company would do.

I also feel the NFL should pass some new rules to eliminate these types of incidents from happening. To celebrate is one thing, to be blantently disrespectfull such as Moss, Sapp, Owens, and a few others are is another. That IMO goes beyond celebration to just down right, arrogent and ignorant.
