I wouldnt hold it there either big guy. They're probably gonna get schooled by Philly this weekend.

Then again, I'm pullin for my interim team the Jets who will probably get beat down by Pitt.

If the Jets dont make it, and they probably wont, then I'd like to see it be Indy vs Atlanta in the bowl.

Cass, put the crack pipe down, and slowly back away from it. No one will get hurt.

....however, the Jets will get buried in Pitt this weekend, and it doesn't matter which NFC team goes to Jacksonville (it won't be Atlanta, though), they will be destroyed by whichever AFC team makes it.

Oh, I dont doubt that the Jets will get beat by Pittsburg on Saturday. I dunno if they'll get burried though. The Jets have the 6th best D in the league. If they play mistake free football and the offense is doing its job, then they can maybe keep it somewhat close.

I do agree with you. I think that any NFC team will get beat down by the AFC team that goes. I'd rather it be Atlanta, although I doubt it will be. Philly's D is better and will contain the hell outta Vic and probably wont let him loose.

Yeah, it was 17-6 last time, but it was 3-3 before a 4th quarter meltdown. Don't forget--Pennington was also in his first game after coming back from injury.



Let's just say I'm cautiously optimistic. :D

Meltdown? You think the Jets lost that game? Pittsburgh beat them up all day, and then turned it on in the fourth to put the game away. Only one of Pennington's INT's led to a score by Pittsburgh, a field goal.

Who are you wanting to win that game?

I don't know about "beating them up all day."

Big Ben had two interceptions to Pennington's three, and Bettis only had 57 yards. Two fourth quarter touchdowns was the deciding factor.

And, when one of the interceptions happens as the Jets were near the red zone (at the 30), keeping the Jets from scoring was as important as getting a score.

Actually, my girlfriend is the Jets fan. I've warmed to them over the years since the Falcons always sucked.

But, now I just enjoy watching good football. Of course, a Jets victory will make my homelife much more enjoyable.

One thing for sure, it was a great game. In my Steelers fan opinion, the Steelers wore the Jets down all day. The Jets tried multiple blocking schemes to stop the blitzes, and I think that affected what they wanted to do on offense.

The Jet's D had no way to stop the running game. It was scary to see how Bettis carved up the Jet's defense. Burress is back this week, and everyone is rested. The Jets will get beat up all day with Pitt's running game.

Best wishes to you and your Jets. Since the home life won't be that great after Saturday, I guess we'll be seeing alot of you here at TB. :)

Heh--I would have been willing to make a friendly wager, but now that I've just read that Pennington was out of practice today with a stomach flu, AND Quincy Carter was home in Georgia with his ailing mother, I'm not so inclined.

I suspect Chad will still be ready to play on Saturday, but I'm not picking any flu-recovering QB over the Steelers. Heck, I have a hard time picking anyone over the Steelers.

I just now heard that on ESPN too. No way Pennington misses that game. He'll play unless he is in the hospital. Besides, I would rather play them full strength. I have a few co-workers from NY who are major Jet's fans. I can hear it now if Pittsburgh wins with Pennington not playing. It's going to be a good game, and I'm looking forward to it.

I'm not the gambling type, so I would have declined your offer on a wager. :)

There was an interesting article Phil Simms wrote about QB's who played though they were extremely sick.

He cited many examples...and every single one of those QB's just opened up a can of whoop-ass on their opponent.

He said it happened to him as well. Something about having a fever and wanting to puke made them forget all the distractions and really focus on their play more than when healthy.

Favre's best games always were when he was hurt the most, or had to endure something that normally is unbearable.

You never know what could happen in that game.

Yeah, I remember last year's Packer's game after Favre's dad had died. One of the greatest QB performances I've ever seen.

Looks like you should have stuck with the Falcons. They are laying a beatdown on the Rams right now.

Nice try today by the Jet's. They got lucky with that win last week. It caught up to them today. The better team won today, and will next week against either the Colts or Pats.
