Things will continue the way they are until the fans start speaking with their wallet. We can complain and call sports radio all day, but the NFL doesn't care as long as we keep dropping $75 for a ticket, and $250 for a Manning jersey.

There are two sides to the Favre clan in Kiln, MS. One side pronounces it right: Fa-vray. The other side pronounces it halfway backward: Far-v.

One side has a female member that's been arrested for shoplifting in Biloxi, MS and for being involved in a drive-by shooting in Slidell, LA.

Guess which side.

......oh, the Ewes go down this weekend. They only got in because their opponents in the last two games didn't need to win.

It don't matter, the NFC is a side-show anyhow. The "real" Super Bowl will be the AFC Championship game. I'm takin' Pittsburgh to do the deed, but if the Colts win in Foxboro, all bets are off. (I'm NOT betting on that happening...just saying if it does happen...)

Vikings fans, enjoy the win, because you are done. It's not that Philly is much better than you, they aren't. You played your Superbowl yesterday though. You won it, now I'm betting you have nothing left. I expect Minnesota to come out VERY flat and play like the usual late season chokers we have come to expect.

Anyone else see that classy Randy Moss yelling "look at the motherfu#*in scoreboard" to the fans repeatedly from the sideline? It was very easy to read his lips and the TV telecast showed him doing it at least twice.

Where was the outrage with Jake Plummer shooting the fans a bird? I can't seem to find the 4 page thread on Talkbass about that....

I thought the mooning was funny considering the Greenbay fans have been doing it for years when other teams are driving off in their buses.

Randy Moss certainly has his issues, and I'm no fan--I personally have more of a problem with his profanity laced tirade on Sunday that no one seems to be mentioning on the news. But, I guess video speaks louder than words on Sportscenter.

I don't doubt it. The media here in town are suddenly drinking the Kool-Aid; the Rams are on a roll, Martz has them together at the right time, watch out Atlanta, blah, blah, blah. While they are playing a little better, they're still an 8 and 8 team that wouldn't have had a sniff of the playoffs had they not played in the worst division in the NFL. And at 9 and 7, the Seahawks weren't much better, so the Rams haven't really done anything yet.

Yep, the AFC is where the good football is being played.

We've been following his career from the first day he came here. Favre and the whole team is kind of like a family to us around here (seeing as how we own the Packers).

For what it's worth, most of the sports media seems to be coming down on Joe Buck as an idiot and hypocrite for his (very similar to many of you) overreaction to Moss' "classless act", considering his (Buck's) Bud commercials with the very Moss/Owens-like "Leon".

I can understand the NFL not wanting direct taunting (i.e. Getting right in the opposing team's face with something after a score), and no, I don't think Moss, Owens, Horn, etc. are going to win any humanitarian awards, but has everybody become so fragile that we need to come down on end-zone celebrations?.......end-zone celebrations??????

I don't think people from around the rest of the country truly understand what the Packers mean to the entire State of Wisconsin. It really is our team, not just in spirit...unlike every other one that's owned by some money grubbing, sell-or-move-the-team-on-a-whim owner.

There is no team, in any sport, that has as much invested (literally) by it's fans as the Green Bay Packers.

The no-class punk Cris Collinsworth is usually the one who never misses an opportunity to gratuitously exaggerate a player's mistake under the BS excuse of "telling it like it is". I personally think Cris has a chip on his shoulder for having never won a superbowl ring.


Speaking of disgusting: anybody go to a football game lately (or any major sporting event for that matter)? Anybody hear the things fans say... not only to the players, but to their fellow fans? I'm not making an excuse for Randy's potty mouth or Jake's bird, but they are simply returning what they are getting from the fans ... it isn't like these players are punks and fans are not! My brother isn't sure he wants to bring his kid to football games once he gets old enough. Most fans are decent, but the uncouth drunken belligerent slobs are impossible to ignore.

Yeah, we just have to contain him. The Rams are stopping the run better. I wouldn't call them good but they have figured out a way in the last few games to contain some good running backs (Martin, and Alexander) They diddn't shut them down completely but made them much less effective.

As for Vick, I don't think he is a smart QB. I think McNabb is. McNabb reads defenses much better, and has the brains to read a defesive scheme and audible a change of play or make an adjustment to compensate. The fact that he is capable of running, he is big, and strong and has a cannon for an arm makes him way more dangerous. He is a little easier to contain than Vick because he does not have as much speed. But he is a QB so that doesn't stop him from being effective.

As long as you can force Vick to be a QB you have a very good chance of beating Atlanta.

And to think, I as a Packer fan, actually liked the Vikings too for a while. Actually it was more that I liked the way Fran Tarkenton played than the Vikings. Which is one of the reasons I love Favre's play so much.

Hey, I heartily respect the Packer franchise and how it's run. I also think Brett Farv is a great QB. I've just dealt with the fall out from his and his family's actions DIRECTLY in my former hometown, as have some of my family members and friends.

I'm glad he's a model citizen up in Green Bay, however, he and his family are NOT when they're "home".

...hey, bassmonkeee, the Rams made the playoffs too, they belong there about as much as the Pack did this year, apparantly.
