Greg Curbow passed away

-Timothy- said:
I would like to ask people here show the Curbow's work to express our love of his instruments. We miss you! Greg. I think Greg will feel happy about his bass even come to Hong Kong.

Here is my Curbow International Exotic Petite 6

That looks just like the one that Skuli Sverrison plays. I love it!

Now that he's released from the physical world -
may he find whatever he most dreams of and desires -
peace, rest, tranquility ...
or the powerful freedom to travel and dream and play
well beyond the boundaries that confine us here.

No doubt he's watching over those he loves ...
because love certainly had to be the core of his spirit,
as it was reflected in his work.
He was a very special man,
and he will be missed.

Sincerely,
Steve and Jill Azola

God bless you Greg.

I am just finding out about this today . I read about it in bassplayers editorial .

I hated reading it . I talked to Greg several times when I started on my path as a luthier . He sold me a gorgeous top of flamed maple . He was always very willing to answer question and I have always respected him as an artist and luthier . I had hoped to meet him some day . I always remember how important it is to be a nice person as much as anything . Greg tought me that . When ever I answer the phone I remember how he treated me , like I mattered .

I am very sad even though I know God's peace is with him . My deepest respect to his family and friends .

Although I have seen and played custom Curbows before, I really hate it that it took his death to make me realize how neat his designs are. As I said in a few other posts, the Cort Curbow is the best polaying and sounding budget bass that I have ever had the pleasure of playing. I really encourage people to check out the Curbow website. You can get Cort Curbow's with some really nice electronics mods direct from Curbow. For bassists who want a great playing and sounding bass on a budget, this is a great option. It will also help maintain the operation that Greg Curbow built, and I think that would be a good thing.
